From our treatment upon our initial arrival, and the careful time and management our butler Pavel took, we had a splendid time in Punta Sam! The grounds were meticulously kept and were constantly being manicured and perfected in the early mornings. Our room was well kept, and the cleaning service was superb. Restaurants, and the breakfast buffet were good to great, and the kids and wife had a blast at the several pools and many hot tubs! Definitely consider returning!

We stayed there for a great week early May but not sure we'd go back. Property, food, staff for the most part were great BUT too many rules!!! that are intrusive and interruptive to my vacation. We pay for AI to be able to come and go as we please and not to be bothered or interrupted by the "business of the resort". The worst one is this "have to sign the bill" rule every time is just plain silly, my signature means nothing to their records or tracking as they ask my room number everywhere (not a problem) so they can get all the info they need and they know we're AI. The only reason I can see is it's just another way to extract more money out of you as there is a TIP line, this was compounded a few times with having to find my server to sign so we could leave the area. I have no problem tipping, so its not that, preferring to tip per round and in cash. Also on checkout I needed the checkout slip before our shuttle could leave, why?? Couldn't get shots in my morning coffee - our waiter admitted he didn't understand English so well - go to the restaurant bar they tell me I have to go through my waiter aargh!!! - the bottle was literally right there can't just give me something I've already paid for without me having to get frustrated about it, it's not a licensing thing as they serve other alcohol.

The property was OK a few things that I didn’t like No welcome drink like other resorts or hotels as soon as you walk in, the buffet was very limited on food. The steak restaurant is very minimal had no taste at all. The Italian restaurant was fantastic. That was our best place for breakfast. We only did room service due to having an infant and not wanting to wake up early. When we were out at the beach, the waitress service was limited as well. They were not attentive as other waiters at other resorts. The food at the snack bar was minimal and OK. I like this resort just because it was far away from the others and the waters were great But out of 10 I will definitely rate this at a four compared to other resorts out there the ferry as well was a big thing why we got their clothes was because we can go to Isla‘s very faster, but that ferry is a cargo ferry and it’s only three times it leaves so keep in mind in that they do not advertise that part. There’s no shopping around. I wanted to do some shopping at least at different stores, but not a lot of nightlife so I figured this would be a good resort but definitely wrong. I kind of recommend it. I guess you would have to stay to take your own review.

First time staying here and I was not impressed. Just another resort. The dinning options were good however they only have 1 buffet. This buffet is closed half the time I was there. It was annoying because for lunch I had to either make a reservation or eat from the snack bar. The snack bar did have a few items like salads, tacos, burgers, hot dogs, chicken wings and tenders with fries. Some wraps. For someone that wants to pick her own food I was not so happy. They clean the rooms daily and have a good mini bar and snacks free of charge. I was annoyed by the check I needed to sign every where including the snack bar. This check detailed what we ate at zero cost because its all inclusive but you had to print your name and sign. They do this so you can tip if you dont have cash with you. Of course additional tips are optional but its a bit rude. I wont be going back here, food was a 7/10 and staff was 6/10.

We were overcharged at the spa and the transportation to downtown. When we tried to resolve it, we were just argued with and told we approved charges we definitely didn’t approve. Similarly, we paid the hotel for transportation to a club, but when we arrived at the club, they said we didn’t and made us pay again. We reserved a two bed room, but received and ocean view upgrade with only one bed. The food was good, but a reservation when booking is recommended.

There is not one thing that we did not enjoy on this resort. It was the perfect relaxing vacation that we needed! Rafael checked us in and he was wonderful. Very informative and helped with all our questions. Helped provide the other couple with us an upgrade that was greatly appreciated. He was absolutely amazing! All the staff were beyond great, very friendly and always greeted with a smile! Dining options were great as well. Great reviews for the steakhouse and italian, as well as the Legends bar inside. Food was really good 10/10. Resort was very clean and the hospitality all staff provided was great! Room service was used on our visit and they were very quick and always willing to help. Pools are wonderful! The staff keeps it very clean. Many different pools so you have options! Theres also staff that comes around the pools asking if you want drinks/food. Nightly options we didn’t experience really weren’t looking for partying, more of a relaxing vacation. All in all, our whole party has nothing but great things to say about Villa Del Palmar and their staff! Thank you to everyone who made our vacation everything we needed!
