excellent except for cleanliness of the hotel. I saw a hairpin left behind by the previous guest(s) in the bedroom on the carpet under the curtain. I'm assuming vacuuming isn't done on a regular basis.
The evening receptionist mumbles and doesn't speak clearly. Also, his customer service was poor. I was checking in while another guest (or potential guest) turned up at the counter a minute later, attended by his colleague. 2 minutes into checking in, he stopped and helped his colleague (also a receptionist) and he just kept me, my hubby and 2 young children waiting for ages without finishing what he had to do with my check-in. At that time my credit card was with him and he was just about to hand me the hotel keys/card. When he was done assisting his colleague, he didn't even apologise for the interruption. I thought that was rude.
"great location and felt real rather than plastic"
the charrington has a really nice feel to it. it makes you feel like someone has put some effort into it rather than the normal plastic experience. i would recommend it to anyone looking for a more localised experience.
On arrival we went to our allotted room on the second floor to find it partially flooded with rain coming through the ceiling!
On complaining we were given an apartment on the 4 th floor at the front of the building . This was much better and I was happy to accept .
The only problem being the noise from military road at night ! The windows are not double glazed and Friday and Saturday nights cre very noisy until approx 3 am .
Attended a course in Nth Sydney which was only a short walk from the hotel, which is why I selected that particular hotel. The room was cleaned daily and it had flat screen TV (+6 Foxtel channels), aircon, ensuite shower/toilet, bar fridge, iron & ironing board, kettle with tea, coffee and biscuits.
