A lovely stay thank you. The balcony view was terrific from floor 9 and the history and culture of Pentridge was amazing. What a great way to preserve such an historical building

The uniqueness of the original Pentridge property was so interesting. The availability of shopping/movie/dining precinct was great. My only issue is that i think $19 per night for parking in addition to the hotel rate is a little steep, especially is an area so far from the city, making a car a necessity.

Easy parking, staff friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the room could be cleaner; toenails and hairs in the bathroom and the grout doesn’t appear to ever have been cleaned properly.

Very noisy rooms on the 2nd floor/ front of building - with 3 roads converging and the tram station outside. We requested a room change - we were moved to a TINY apartment on the 2nd floor - despite paying for a PREMIER APARTMENT and the building having 9 LEVELS. The only view from our small living room was a large bank of solar panels and roof vents directly outside our window. The aircon panel in our room did not work - we couldn't control the room temperature. The aircon kept turning on very cold - over several days we had to keep asking reception staff to remotely turn it off - I got up out of bed twice one night to go down to reception to ask them to remotely turn off the freezing aircon fan!! Very frustrating!!! One day we went to reception to collect a special tag to access the pool - however, Police were interviewing reception staff in the foyer and we weren't able collect the tag or have a swim. All up - a very disappointing experience.

Great location nice property. Prison done up very well. Room service definitely needed improving ok when it was done but missed out 2 days when sign on the door at 10am and when requested it asked what would I like done? On day of checking out which is 11am room service came at 9 am hoping I had already left ( should have checked with reception) Would have preferred a buffet breakfast not a menu, stayed 5 days menu got a bit boring.

Melbourne at its finest.

Have stayed here before and is always a pleasant stay. Staff are incredibly friendly and happy to help with any request. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. The locality is excellent with shops close by, and a quick tram ride to Lygon st or the city.

Excellence on city fringe

This was a trip down memory lane for me, having grown up in the area 50 years ago. What a fabulous precinct Pentridge has become and the hotel was great. Shout out to Maddy on the front desk. She was so friendly, welcoming and helpful. The bar is a hidden gem, pool and gym were small but excellent, very clean and comfortable. The room was clean, comfortable, had all the basics and more and a delightful balcony. All our requests and questions were dealt with in a timely fashion, thanks to efficient house keeping staff. I would highly this property and would definitely stay again.

It was handy to my home, which was being painted. But doors to rooms were heavy & banged as guests came & went. The room was poorly designed - the hand held shower too high to reach, there was no light near the bed & ceiling lights in the sleeping area far too bright. This was a studio & overpriced for what it provided.

The only negative thing I have to say is the king beds are terrible, upon making a complaint though the friendly staff did change our room to a much more comfortable bed so that was fantastic

Great hotel but creepy site.

Amazing hotel and lovely staff. I just don’t like that this gruesome historical site is being used for entertainment purposes. It’s a creepy place with a very dark history and violent deaths inside these walls. Feels haunted. This place and these walls have some bad juju. It was the only hotel in the area and we were there for an event close by.

Really nice hotel in a unique location. Clean, modern and comfortable. Easily accessible with great public transport into Melbourne. Local shops, restaurants and bars are really good too, with a big cinema on the doorstep
