I was very disappointed with our stay at the Copthorne. We came as a family for a big Dance event. This was a special time as we don’t usually get the chance to stay away from home. We were booked for 2 nights. On the first night, we discovered that the shower screen was broken and dangerously moving about. The shower completely overflowed and flooded the bathroom floor and went out of the bathroom into the main area. We used most of our towels to clean this up. We complained about it the next day and were offered another room but our sun would need to sleep on a stretcher bed rather than a proper bed. We declined this as felt it was unfair. They offered free breakfast. We accepted. Upon having the breakfast there was no labels on food for people with dietary needs. (My wife is Gluten free). We asked what she could eat and was told only the egg and some fruit. We asked if they had any GF bread which they did have a couple of slices. It felt really sad that my wife had to watch my son and I eat ‘lavishly’ while she had small toast with a bit of egg and a bit of fruit on the side. We didn’t feel that our needs were met here. Feel sad that we poured hard earned money into a substandard holiday venue.

Had a great stay here - staff member on reception was so warm and welcoming, and very helpful. The room was fabulous, large and homely with a desk looking over an unexpected balcony and view. The shower was indulgently hot and the bed was super comfortable. My car was safely parked off the street. And I enjoyed a wonderful room service dinner that was fast, delicious, and affordable, and was delivered to me by another warm and friendly staff member. Maybe I am a simple person with simple needs, who doesn't need anything flashy... but this hotel exceeded my expectations as a solo traveller and I would happily stay again.

Room was old. Cracked and broken tiles in the bathroom. Mouldy sealant. Worn carpet with holes in it. Poorly sealed door to exterior. Generally felt unclean.

For a $300 a night hotel i expected a lot more. Its run down. Breakfast "buffet" was a few very cheap items like budget savories, beans eggs and frozen hard waffles. The worst thing was the accessible hotel room would only be able to be used by someone quite able bodied. Steep short ramp up into the bathroom. Bathroom was very small and had no handrails for the toilet. Very disappointed

The place was falling apart. The glass shower wall wasn’t secured and I almost fell into the shower on the glass. The tiles were falling off, there was a hole in the roof. It hasn’t been cleaned properly from the previous guests I found some of their belongings in the room. The room looked nothing like the photos and we couldn’t make a coffee because there were no plugs that could reach a surface for the jug to boil on. The only thing this place has going for it is the location. You cannot pre book parking either which was a pain. This place leaves a lot to be desired and is in desperate need of a fix up.
