My family's first trip to Hawaii, we were excited for what we hoped would be an unforgettable vacation. Unfortunately, our stay was disappointing and did not live up to the expectations by the hotel's website The issues started at check-in. Since our room was not ready, we were offered an early check-in to a different room for nearly $100 per day. For a five-day stay, that additional cost felt excessive, so we declined. We were eventually assigned Room D1281 in the Diamond Tower, but the room was far from thay, It felt dark, outdated, and poorly maintained. The walls were chipped and dirty, there was noticeable dust throughout the room, the lighting was inadequate, and the toilet handle would frequently get stuck. Even the drinking glasses appeared unclean.
During our stay, housekeeping serviced the room once per our request, but we were left without shower towels and had to request them. One of the pillows had a stain and also needed to be replaced. The peeling paint on the doors and overall condition of the room made it feel neglected. The hallways were no better, with some window handles held together by duct tape. building called the "Diamond Tower," the experience felt anything but premium. The photos on the website were misleading. Unless you book a newer tower or know exactly which section to request, the accommodations may not match what is advertised. Overall, I left disappointed.
