Jodie, After checking, there is no issue with the air conditioner, once the set temperature is reached the air conditioner will stop running and start again if it goes above the set temperature when cooling. With regard to the "mould" around the tiles, I am not sure if you noticed but in this particular unit the whole shower area is grouted with a dark grey grout and on inspection no mould was found.
