Position was everything! Across the road from the beach, watching the waves roll in from my bedroom & lounge room view, was fabulous. On the few cold, windy, rainy days, it made for a beautiful, peaceful retreat with that view. Reception Staff were professional & polite. Improvements - tiny ants in the kitchen (reported on departure), safety floor bolt missing from sliding outside door, bathroom window catches seemed loose/hard to close, (felt a little unsafe), previous guest salad dressing still in the back of the fridge on arrival.

Oaks is very dated. The terracotta tiles don't do much to lift it out of the era it was built. The Foyer is dated, and some of the rooms look as though they have been renovated but unfortunately, mine had not. I stayed for 10 nights and there was no offer of room services for that length of stay nor did I receive a welcome letter. As I have stayed there in the past it would have been nice to be greeted as such and not asked if this was my first time staying there. The room I stayed in did not appear clean, The curtains and carpet were stained. The dishwasher was filthy inside and out. There was a hole in the bathroom door and the phone had to be disconnected due to the noise it was making. There are so many other newer places to stay in the area so I think they really need to lift their game.

Friendly & Welcoming Reception staff. Location with shopping & Beach access very inviting. Lots of diverse Food choices to enjoy Shout out to the wonderful Coolangatta Surf Club & the New stylish, Nearby Kirra Beach Hotel. Very walkable, we did lots of entertaining things without having to use the car which we parked in their secure, undercover space. Lots of Bush & Ocean tracks to explore. The natural beauty of this Coastal Haven should always be acknowledged & appreciated. Never to be undervalued in the overall holiday experience
