Assistant Lighthouse Keepers Cottage

Pros: Essentially original condition of the cottage. The old kitchen and bathroom were clean and charming

Walking back in time

Good for nature lovers, walkers and people wanting something different away from suburbia. Lots of daddy long legs everywhere, floors not very clean. Bed comfortable, clean and amenities OK. Definitely not a B&B or hotel type accommodation. Probably more akin to a cabin in a caravan park.

Awesome

Pros: Pretty much everything
Location: The location is fantastic, it's a little far from town but very easy if you have a car. I loved this place

Overpriced and disappointing

Pros: John, the slightly eccentric lighthouse keeper was friendly and helpful.
Cons: The standard of the room is far below the price they are asking.
Cramped room, tepid shower, crumby amenities, all at 4.5 star city prices. The tiny worn out heater struggled to keep the room at an adequate temperature. On arrival, there was inadequate signage to explain how to get into the gated area. The bed mattress was hard.

Expectation Met

Pros: It's location
Cons: Maybe a slightly larger room heater
Very old home, good condition, great location for people not looking for 5 star luxury but beautiful environment.

Amazing Experience

Pros: Cosy and romantic room. Staff member stayed back 5 minutes so we could get our key - it was blowing a gale and pouring rain!
Cons: Nothing really, the room is small which can't be helped due to historical nature of building(s). We had everything we needed.
Location: Remote and romantic. Lots of walks - easy drive to the RACV resort for dinner.
Stayed in the Inspector's Cottage. It was like being the lighthouse keeper in days of old as nobody else was staying in the other accommodation.

Pros: The location was absolutely wonderful.
Cons: Toilets was hideous
The walk to the lighthouse at night time rates a special mention. Loved the peace and quiet with the lapping sound of the sea to keep us company.

The property was built in 1859 and has that old run down atmosphere as it is heritage listed
