plumbing pipes were very noisy. the tv barely worked and the room would have benefitted from the installation of better glazing (to reduce traffic noise from the very busy road outside).

This place has a bad reputation as many people now live there and drink alot. Loud drinks all over the place and a scary insistent at 3 am left us scared . Do now stay here

We stayed at the hotel as a family with three kids (ages 7, 9, and 12) prior to a flight the next morning. The staff were very friendly upon arrival and we found parking easy. Our daughters enjoyed an evening swim and we walked to a nearby location for dinner. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable plus the air conditioning felt great for the outside heat. I went for a run in the morning in the neighborhood and found it to be a nice, suburban atmosphere. The breakfast was perfect for our family heading to the airport. No frills but exactly what we were looking for!

Located centrally on a road busy, in a seedier part of Brisbane - we booked the Clayfield Motel for a 1 night stay due to its proximity to the Brisbane airport. Another reason for booking was Expedia advertised a shuttle to the airport. We were later informed by the Motel's personnel that the shuttle service ceased some time ago - more on that below. Our flight which started in Perth touched down little late; so, we arrived "after hours" to find the place locked down tighter than Fort Knox. In a dimly lit parking lot, there was notice for guests arriving afterhours. We rang a service bell. After a while, someone arrived to point out our room key (an actual key) was in a lock box near the office and an entry code had been provided via text. The same person (who appeared piqued at having been disturbed) pointed out that as our room was up several flights of stairs (no lift\elevator) we could use a type of dumb waiter device to lift our bags to the appropriate level. The device looked ancient and did not trust our luggage to it; I hauled our bags up to the top floor. Back to the no longer existing shuttle, add a $35 taxi ride for 6.5 kms to get to the Motel and the same back; we may as well have stayed at the Ibis near the airport for almost the same price. Now as for places to eat - after 9 (like the Motel) most everything is closed, although we did find a Nandos. Chairs were up on tables, but they feed us anyway. Bottom line - avoid this property. This property is clean and just a 10 minutes ride from the airport. It is disappointing that they no longer offer a shuttle ride back to the airport but the rooms are comfortable and they have both smart phone and traditional power points for connection. The wifi is reliable and included.

The place is older and our room smelled bad. The breakfast was the most meager I’ve ever seen at a hotel; barely anything at all to eat and nothing worth eating. Regretting paying for breakfast.
