My room was unclean and dated. Built up grime in the shower, unwiped surfaces and old bed linen. Great location and easy check in

Nice and spacious studio, duvets very thin for the winter months. Bath tub chipped, tiles broken, hair dryer wasn’t working, not enough shampoo for 2 people., but it was clean. Staff was very prompt and helpful, parking aplenty. Very central to everything. The restaurant downstairs had good food and the hotel very central to all attractions.

Unfortunately the key we were given didnt have access to the pool the gym and even our car parking in the basement, we had to go to the front desk everytime we wanted to do anything! Was very annoying! The rooms were clean and beds were comfortable.

We arrived and there wasn’t enough linen/beds for all of us despite ringing a week ahead to upgrade/pay extra for the added person. Missing a lot of kitchen items. Place was run down; beds were worn out and had many imperfections, bathroom was average too (gross shower curtains). Could definitely do with an upgrade and proper deep clean. Cheap enough for the CBD though, close walking distance to everything

Best thing is pool. Rooms are basic and noisy and not well maintained. Linoleum peeled off floor badly in bathroom. Scuff marks all over walls. Bedroom looks unfinished with door to bedroom. Had some food wanted disposed of rather than stink up room. Was sent to basement to do it itself rather than offered to supply a bin.. no guest info about services in room

Avoid at all costs. While the staff undoubtedly work hard and are tasked with keeping the lipstick on the pig, doing their best, my experience was dire. I was looking for a treat, a relaxing hotel experience for an Auckland mini-break. I was delighted to get a good deal weeks out on Wotif. On arrival, pleasant friendly staff who checked me in early so I could safely leave my bag. That warm welcome turned to dismay - room 114 is possibly the most depressing hotel room I've seen in recent times. Dark, awkwardly shaped, noisy (right by Hobson Street), and tired (paint peeling, dirty bathroom, mismatched curtains hanging off hooks). Returning at 8.45pm I settled in for the thing I was looking for; a quiet night in a hotel. Come 10.00pm things unravelled - there's a nightclub seemingly on the balcony, people pulling up in cars for said nightclub, bouncers or guests having hours-long conversations outside the window (they were having a good time). I rang Reception about 11.30 to ask for a new room; a few quick taps on the keyboard and advised "no rooms". When I asked "Is there a nightclub outside?" I was told "Yes" in a tired "We've had this query a thousand times" voice, quickly supplemented with "We can't control the noise Sir". Ultimately the experience was unrewarding and disappointing; it left a feeling in my mouth that when it comes to rooms that are on special, e.g. on Wotif, the hotel allocates the nastiest, least popular rooms to the poor sods like me.
