The property and it's staff are fine. Helpful polite and generally good natured. Within a short walk are some very nice restaurants and bars. It's a lively city and can get noisy into the early hours at the weekend. Unfortunately the surrounding area has more than it's fair share of unsavoury characters. Be aware that some of them can be quite unpredictable.

We stayed 2 nights after our cruise. It was 1 block from the hop on hop off bus. It is across the street from a homeless shelter. The hotel itself is clean. The staff are very helpful. The hotel is taken care of. I was uncomfortable with what was happening on the street outside. This is not anything that the hotel can control.

Hotel was fine. Neighborhood is a little rough, attached restaurant was terrible. I don’t recommend breakfasting there at all. Overpriced and the worst hotel breakfast I have ever eaten. Also our cards stopped working well before checkout.

Stay Away – Worst Hotel Experience I had a terrible experience at the Quality Inn. It took over 5 hours just to get my room. The elevators took 20–30 minutes, which is completely unacceptable. I should have realized something was off when I saw people paying cash without deposits, while I was asked for a deposit. When I finally got to my room, it smelled bad, the furniture was falling apart, and the washroom door didn’t even close. I contacted Expedia to cancel the rest of my stay (I had booked 5 nights) and asked for a partial refund, but the hotel refused. I couldn’t stay in those conditions and checked out immediately. To make things worse, they held my deposit and didn’t return it until I called. The management was completely unhelpful and unprofessional. Avoid this hotel at all costs. Poor service, terrible conditions, and shady management. A partial refund would have gone a long way—very disappointing.

I liked the location, as I needed to be close to the downtown waterfront. The area itself is a little run down, but the hotel itself was clean and well-run. I appreciated the note from housekeeping and the creatively folded towels, along with a little snack assortment given at checkin. I was told about the great discounts at the attached restaurant and surrounding businesses. The downside was the noise. I was in 107, which is right next to the stairwell door. The door slams so hard the room shakes and is quite loud. It started at 4am and didn't stop. I couldn't get back to sleep after that. The bed was also squeaky and you tend to roll into the middle. If you're a solid sleeper, in need of a basic hotel room, it's a great option! Otherwise, ask for a room far away from any door/stairwell.
