The room was clean but the hallways and public areas are very run down and shabby. The room was facing a busy road and extremely noisy. While the staff were courteous and helpful, it was not a comfortable stay. On the first night I was sent to the car park only to find it was totally full and I had to par in the street. Overall disappointing.

Looks ok from the outside, lobby is really nice and the staff were friendly and attentive, unfortunately the rest of the hotel just doesn’t meet the same standard. The place is old and tired and is in desperate need of a renovation, dirty stained carpets, paper thin walls, creaking floors, peeling paint in the room you name it. Did I mention it’s like a favela in Brazil, it’s like a maze challenge to find your room. Mercure hotels used to be premium, clearly not anymore. I won’t be returning
