Unfortunately the staff left a very poor impression. This venue was understaffed with long wait times and the process of checking in was severely lacking customer service.
The check in had a very rigid policy around ID and basically told me to get a refund because my drivers licence had recently expired (even though I had renewed it via Vic Roads and had evidence but the card was not yet updated).
Wotif and the accommodation should make this very clear to guests before arrival rather than being so rude and simply shrugging and turning away guests away who have already paid in full. The lack of care was very upsetting and distressing to be turned away as a single woman in Melbourne for the night.
This was later sorted out by a much more reasonable staff member when I returned that evening but the initial impression was very poor. Check out times were very long as well as there was clearly an understaffing issue at the peak time.
