Property is very well situated, shops, trams, restaurants all very close & easy walk. Staff very good to deal with. Rooms clean & tidy & well equipped. We had an issue with the air con in our first room & staff handled well but were unable to fix & luckily we could change room. That room fine but an issue with TV & again staff couldn’t fix. Both needed someone off site to come in next day & sort. Can understand that for air con but not a TV. Staff very good but management need to equip them to sort these issues on site when problem occurs not the next day

This place was amazing. Located just behind Burke St Mall, you can walk anywhere for food, shopping, entertainment. The room was large, clean and classy. The bed was so comfortable. We stayed for a well overdue night away from the kids and we couldn’t have been happier with the Howey. We will be back.

Well located hotel in a historic building in the CBD. Comfortable rooms, with well appointed bed, and good coffee and tea provisions. Ground floor is a bit odd (like it’s set up to be a cafe but isn’t).

Loved the room, service and decor at the Howie. Prior to check in I asked for a quiet room via message- that was responded to in the positive. Asked again to clarify when checking in - the second floor room - at the back- was very noisy, alarms going off multiple times through the night, truck pulling up outside our window unloading heavy duty machinery at 6:45 , loud noise, etc…. Very disappointed particularly after checking this twice.

A strange thing…but why is the basin area so large with minimal room left for the toilet. Excellent sheets, pillows and towels and very comfortable bed. Very pleasant staff.

Let’s start with the positives, location is great walking distance to all the shopping, restaurants and bars you could as for. The room is also very large and spacious! Now for what let our stay down, there happened to be an arts festival on the weekend we were staying and we were not informed of this beforehand. The music was blaring from the alley way well after midnight which made our first night less than enjoyable. Secondly the sound proofing in the rooms is terrible we could hear our neighbours conversations the whole weekend. Which felt like we had no privacy at all.

Great boutique hotel. Located near Bourke St Mall and shopping arcades. Easy walking distance to trams and Flinders St. No dining at hotel but many breakfast and lunch options in close by laneways. Would definitely stay again when next in Melbourne
