If you have no other option for a last minute booking in the MELBOURNE CBD. It's in the heart of the city so that's a positive. Staff are quite helpful and i checked in after hours where the after hour service was quite prompt to get me in given the booking has gone in only 10mins earlier. Cons: sheets and the shower/ toilet are clean everything else is a bit dirty old and run down. I think just a fresh coat of paint and change of carpets could do wonders to this place.

No water on first night and when water was working it was dirty. Foyer was dirty and smelly. Rooms were musty and dirty. Had to step past someone urinating at the entrance.

It was cheapish so wasn't expecting a lot and it was okay but the bathroom was mouldy. Otherwise it served a purpose. The late check-in sytem was appauling, I rang twice once on the day I was arriving to get details for late check-in and was told a sms would be sent after 5pm. Iwas still on a plane at this stage and when I landed there was no message. I got to the motel and still no message. I tried to call but there was no answer. Fortunately after waitng outside in the freezing cold for 30 minutes another guestlet me in who was also able to get my key out of of the safe for me. I did not receive the sms until 9 am the following morning so if it wasn't for the other guest I would have been left in the cold until then. No one on reception for another 2 days after that which is not a great system.

Did it do the job? Yes. Would I ever stay here again? Nope. Listen I know I booked a budget hotel but gahd damn there were the same time of yellowish bug that kept reoccurring and the bathroom was foul tbh. Something that really got me thought as a solo female traveller is that the rooms don’t have an inside lock or anything, just your key to open and close from the outside so it really didn’t feel safe personally. All of this just encouraged me to do more and explore Melbourne morning to late nights though.

New to Melbourne? This is pretty much the centre to the key areas of the city of where you need to go. April 2024 there is construction happening which starts at 6am-3pm, so midday nap kinda not happening but overall you won’t regret staying here on a budget
