The main negative about the hotel is something they can't really control and that is the amount of noise. Like other stayers I chose the Thistle as it was close to Heathrow Airport T5 and I had an early departure. However, there are people who must be catching much earlier flights and waking up earlier and being very inconsiderate of the noise they make so I was hearing loud noise from 3:30am. The room I was in could do with a general refresh, especially the bathroom and the water pressure was poor. I would probably check out the other hotels in the vicinity as they are just as convenient to the 423 bus I wanted to take to T5. The Thistle provided good information on the transport options to the hotel beforehand.

Overall a good 1 night hotel. The place doesn’t have a lift which a major problem specially if you bring more than 1 piece of luggage. Majority of staff is very polite but there’s no “going the extra mile” attitude. I asked for help to bring my +10 pieces of luggage to the room (called the day before), and the guy at reception just pointed at a metal rack for us to do everything and to find the way to our room. Hallways are extremely narrow and ceilings are too low too. The metal rack did not go all the way to the bedroom and it was a very bad experience.

It's a very basic but clean hotel, the only problem is the noise from other guests who turn up all hours and forget to keep quiet, and on the ground floor there was a, lot of arguments from people in the car park. Heathrow charges far too much money for the pod £8.25, disgusting. But I knew this before using it.
