Dated.

We were put in the hotel across from the main hotel. The main hotel where we ate breakfast was lovely, staff welcoming and the breakfast good. Sadly the accommodation we stayed in was VERY dated and it didn’t look like there had been any updates for many years. Dark furniture, loose ceiling tiles. The AC didn’t work and the room was hot (only April) and the window didn’t open. The bathroom was dated with a yellowed wall hair dryer. Whilst I recognise the price was cheap for London, which made it good value - the hotel just doesn’t fit with the Chelsea brand which is surprising.

We have been “upgraded” from the main hotel to a side building where we could hear the trains passing by with our windows closed. Bathroom had mould in some areas around the bath. House keeper opened the door around 9 am when we were still sleeping in bed even though check out is at 12 noon. I would not recommend as 4 star hotel stay.

Common areas were very nice and can’t beat the convenience for a match but the room felt dated and cleanliness was below standards. Mold and water damage in the bathroom was disappointing.

Booked a double and a twin. Asked days in advance that if the non-paying couple arrived first could they be allowed to check in. No reply. Sure enough, they weren't allowed to check in and had to sit in the bar until we arrived. On check-in was told the rooms were in different buildings and would we like them changed to be both in same building? I said yes, as long as we still got a double and a twin. Took a long time for the keys to be prepped (but the person on reception was new). When we got to the rooms they were both doubles...

8.5/10 main concern isn’t big.

AC cooling did not work. Ceiling on the entrance was damaged. Walls had rough paintwork repair visible. It was fine. Nice solid furniture and good amount of space and clean. Enjoyed the stay, felt quiet and very fancy inside the hotel, but the room was lacking some love, however very functional and well thought out. Very sweet in the end. Great for the price.
