The power went off in the hotel as I was preparing to shower, coffee and pack. I had just started the coffee. As there are no bathroom windows and a morning cloudy skies. I did what I was comfortable doing in a dark bathroom to get myself ready for a very long day of travel. As I talked with the front desk staff about it I was told. “It’s ok. You have paid already”. When I pressed and asked for at least a coffee, I was told I was welcome to go back to the room and wait, the power was coming soon. And I was told that I could get a copy from you. I corrected and said coffee, they looked at me like I was blue, and went somewhere, I waited butI didn’t get coffee. As I had to take my shuttle, I left more than agitated and shaking my head. It is an unfortunate last impression, but a terrible way to start a day. Let alone an international leg. The bed was great. I do believe I would have been happy. And I do believe that a kind word would have helped but not solved. I am aware that the situation was not ideal for the hotel, but I was appalled by how I felt waved off.

Check in. I stood in front of the line for a long time without being acknowledged. Another incoming guest jumped in front of me ,but I kept my cool. Eventually I was helped by some one who may have just returned from break while the other 2 staffers continued to ignore me. Not a great first impression.

It was okay. Not luxury hotel. It was meant to fulfill a traveler’s needs at Barr minimum. Here is why it’s not perfect….hair conditioner was empty, I attempted call operator and no one answered. There’s only one elevator for a an impossible maze of endless paths. Safety hazard. The walls are thin. The shuttle was 45 mins late and I paid!
