Terrible car parking experience
We have stayed here numerous times in the past without issues but this time was terrible. Firstly I want to say that all the breakfast and bar staff are amazing and we had no issues there.
But during our four night stay we were woken up twice by room service (even though we had ‘do not disturb’ on), one morning they knocked on the door three times in an hour.
We parked our car at the hotel (at £52 a night) and advised them of this during check-in. On the third morning of our stay we were woken up by a phone call from reception at 7:45 with the person quite aggressively saying ‘you have a car in the car park which needs to be moved now’ they offered for someone to collect our keys and move it for us, which we declined.
Ten minutes later another call, more aggressive ‘move your car, we have a private function and it’s in the way’. No ‘please’ no ‘sorry for the inconvenience’. Five minutes later yet another call from the manager with the same tone, demanding we moved the car immediately, and at the point where she started shouting at me I hung up the phone.
We were basically hounded until we moved the car along with another 10-12 people/cars. When checking out we asked for a discount to the parking charges which they seemed to be surprised about. This could’ve been handled so much better and really leaves a sour taste to what would have been another decent stay.
