Not a bad hotel just up the road from the main town centre of Lilydale. Only a five minute walk to the Lilydale International Hotel (great meals). On arrival I found the room to be clean and in very good order. The staff in the office were very helpful and guided me to various places around town. I had found out later that this hotel is part 'social housing' / 'halfway house'. When I woke Sunday morning, the police were present and I assume someone had O-D'd in a room up from me, as an ambulance arrived shortly after. This was not a problem and did not hinder my stay at the Econolodge. Would I stay again, absolutely !

Great for a one night stay. No lifts, stairs conveniently located. Great located being 8 mins away from most of the Coldstream wineries. Room 27 had an updated bathroom. Clean and comfortable. Reception staff friendly and informative.

Clean room, bed comfortable , nice bathroom with lovely hot shower. Basic tea/coffee making facilities. Only small plates and tea spoon supplied, could have done with more plates, bowls and knives and forks, otherwise comfortable stay.

I love that it’s dog friendly. The grounds of the property could use some work. But the room was clean and comfortable. My friend who shared the room with me commented that the pillows were too thin for him, but I didn’t have an issue; I guess it depends on personal preference.

The room was in a good spot walkable to the lake, the rail trail and local cafe’s breweries and dog friendly which was a big tick for me. Very basic room, kettle, toaster, microwave and fridge but no cutlery. The room and bathroom were clean but under the bed hadn’t been cleaned. I have no complaints but was quite expensive for the basic amenities.

Cups were washed but still had tea stains. Stair had screws protruding from steps on every step right in the middle of the front edge of the step. I am uncertain if the receptionist ignored my two repeated questions about late checkout or did not understand them. Either way I got no answer. Children were screaming at the top of their lungs in play at 7 am on a Sunday morning. The bathroom was clean, well stocked and modern. The TV was quite small and basic (it did work for FTA channels), there was no dish soap nor were tea towels or way of cleaning crockery (there was a good supply of tea bags and coffee sachets).
