Absolutely amazing hotel. From arrival to departure the experience is exceptional. Such a relaxing time spent over a couple of days. Staff are friendly, professional and efficient without being intrusive. Rooms, food and service impeccable. The courtesy tour in a Bentley is an added bonus. There is a selection of comfortable areas to relax within the hotel community areas as well as a charming little pub worth a visit within the site.
We enjoyed our stay at the Maid's Head, both for its well-appointed rooms and central location. We were a stone's throw from the cathedral, charming pubs, and restaurants, yet our room was blissfully quiet.
My only complaint is that the website says the hotel offers "ample complimentary car parking on site," yet when we checked in, we were charged an additional £20. I expressed surprise at this, but as the reception clerk didn't yield, I figured I'd been mistaken. This took a bit of the shine off our otherwise pleasant stay.
Warm welcome and friendly staff throughout stay. Lovely quiet and comfortable room and great breakfast. Great location close to everything but in the most beautiful part of Norwich. Perfect stay! See you in July!

Liked: Cleanliness, amenities
The establishment was aged yet well refurbished. The staffs were professional, welcoming, and polite. The dining hall was said to be from the 14th century, yet it has been renovated to be classy and did not feel aged at all. Furthermore, the property is located right next to the Cathedral and Elm Hill, making easy visits around the city (although the entire city is very walkable).
Unfortunately, the room I stayed at in the hotel had one of the most uncomfortable beds I had ever experienced. The mattress seems to be of innerspring and completely collapsed on either side to the point where on several occasions I would almost fell off from the bed.
Everything else in the room was satisfactory, and we also had a decent breakfast. However the poor experience from the flawed mattress impacting my rest cannot justify the otherwise satisfactory experience.

Liked: Amenities
There is a lot of history regarding this centrally located hotel in Norwich.
The maids tale was very good. We loved the breakfast. Rooms and location were very good. One setback was we could hear the activities and snoring from the next room beside us.
Very pleasant stay. Friendly staff and comfortable room. We stayed in room 314 whuch is above the main entrance. Was a bit noisy in the evening between 10-12 due to students but have had worst. Breakfast very nice and good selection. Would defo stay again
As always , the hotel is wonderful.
The only downside I found is the little extra's or no longer available (for example - Toiletries are no longer given in the rooms). These little extra made the whole stay more special.
Staff were very good if anything was wrong. It is in a perfect location and double rooms are a good size.
More toiletries, larger TVs and making sure there are decaf drink options in every room - neither of the rooms I had were given decaf teabags would have upgraded scores to excellent.
We attended a wedding and stayed the night. The reception check in staff were fantastic and arranged our room was available slightly earlier to get changed before the wedding. The rooms were great, clean, comfy bed and the shower was very powerful (managed to spray it out the bathroom, oops, sorry about that - very powerful!) The wedding host was a very capable chap, nothing was too much trouble and it was a really enjoyable stay. Well done to everyone involved in keeping the place running, a great place and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
