Took three tries to find building. Hidden behind mall. Direction could be clearer. Balcany view of buildings and construction. Nothing in walking distance to shop except mall. Kitchen had no cookie sheet or oven supplies to cook with for ex. Fries. Chicken strips. And. Oven didn't work. One elevator for 22 floors. Took over 5 minutes at times to get to room, pool, or car levels.

Front staff forced us to find an atm at 8pm to pay deposit instead of taking a credit. Seeing we are a family with kids had no impact. Only 2 elevators for 17 floor building. Only one was working. There are more inconveniences to get from parking to the lobby and then room. But will spare you. Didnt enjoy.

When I arrived at the garage entrance, I was greeted by Daniel who was very helpful and friendly. He informed me of any excursions and he could arrange these things. I have been a guest there before and appreciate his humor and exuberance. Upon arriving upstairs at the hotel desk, I was greeted once again by Marisol who is very service oriented, friendly and competent. I enjoyed my stay and I will most definitely return in the future. I highly recommend Suites Malecon.

We had a King suite and it was a nice layout. The rooms are not particularly clean. But not terrible. The ceiling over the shower started to fall in from a leak and we moved rooms. Our 2nd room was really not great. For some reason it was the same but different. The mattress was terrible. It was on the 17th floor and the wind was as awful, shaking the shutters. But the 1st room we had wasn’t quiet either. There is a music club across the street that plays music incredibly loud until about 4am every night. One of the reasons we booked here was for the gym, but it was in VERY poor condition with both treadmills not working. It should not be advertised as an amenity ignore not usable!! Things that were good - staff was super nice. Very convenient entrance to the mall with a grocery store, shopping and restaurants. Not sure we would stay here again though.

I am going to leave a honest review, because I know the economy is stretching a lot of us thin, including the commercial industry. The property photos are not an accurate depiction of the area surrounding the hotel, or lobby/common area. The pool had dirt on bottom & needed to be vacuumed. There is a thick layer of dust over the lobby, and the pool table in the lobby, and the lobby smells like a sweaty casino. It is not fresh as you would hope from photos. I did not have a phone that worked in my room and was provided the incorrect WiFi password for my room, this was not fixed until my last night there. The attention to detail is why this hotel is somewhat uncomfortable, both hot tubs were dirty, my first room had hair in hot tub and sheets, my second room the outside had smeared dirt. The glass on the balcony looked like it was never cleaned. The remotes were dirty, I washed them, the plastic holding WiFi info dirty, the housekeeper introduction card dirty with food finger prints. The inside of the refrigerator dirty, we had a $100 meal that I threw leftovers away rather than use the smelly dirty refrigerator. The glass in shower only cleaned on outside I cleaned the inside with wet wipes & it shined. The room in general dusty &more attention to detail could have made this 5 star. The hotel is under construction so yellow tape in pool area &paint chips fall on balcony. The positive, there were no bugs in my room, I searched mattress for bed bugs and found none. Nice staff.

We stayed in the Deluxe Suite with 936 sq ft which is bigger than our house in Los Angeles, USA. We paid around $106 out the door. We saved money on taxi rides because it was adjacent to the Las Americas shopping mall and has its own private card key entrance to the mall. We didn't use the kitchen because we ended up just eating at the mall or getting mall restaurant takeaway or shopping at the malls supermarket. For breakfast, the supermarket has a food court that opens early with a patisserie and coffee shop (cappuccino: 49 pesos). So, with dozens of restaurants at the mall from counter service to full service, there could be a hurricane outside and you have your choice of dozens of restaurants without getting wet. The food court at the mall had mariachis playing when we ate there on Sunday afternoon, too. The taxi driver from the airport found the hotel easily. We also re-found the entrance by asking taxi drivers and security guards. Of course, I studied Spanish for a few years in Los Angeles which makes asking for directions easier. All entrances required passing guards or key cards or both which gave me the impression of safety. Access is through a parking garage and there are several access points to the various towers. We stayed in the Vancouver tower. Some guests complained it was noisy, and perhaps they should have gone on vacation to a quieter place like the Antarctic. If you are looking for a park closeby with a trail to get away from it all, I recommend the Kabah
