Lovely property in fair weather, dangerous and uncomfortable in rain and wind, as guests must navigate slippery marble floors and walk outdoor to get to meals or activities. No way to heat cold food or dry damp clothes (everything was damp, even clothes we hadn't worn). Spa facilities inconvenient. Entertainment and activities not adjusted for weather. Buffet food not kept at safe temps, either.

Beach was nice. The food wasn’t great. The smell of the air fresheners were too strong. The entertainment was not great. Outdated, mildew smell in hotel.

Great stay! Property and room was very clean and well maintained. The food was better than at most all-inclusive resorts and had a good selection. Beach was small, but nice and there were three pools - one "party" pool and two others. We had a room overlooking the main pool and ocean, which was nice for having coffee in the mornings or relaxing before dinner. Lots of options for activities, if desired. We would definitely return.

Our stay at RIU Palace Las Americas was fantastic! Our room was spacious and was well maintained. The food and drinks were excellent with a great diversity of options! The beach and patio areas were beautiful! After all that, the most outstanding feature of this resort was definitely the people! Every staff made a point to smile and greet us at every opportunity. We never had to wait to be served at any restaurant, lounge or even on the beach! We especially enjoyed going to the lounge each evening before dinner for live piano music! We want to celebrate the service provided by Andrea for the friendly check in service, Enrique serving us in the beach area, Paula providing great service in the Piano Lounge and Manager Thomas at the Black and White Steakhouse for insuring our anniversary dinner was an occasion to be remembered! We were highly impressed and would recommend for a relaxing, hassle free vacation.

So when we arrived at the RIU Las Americas, they told us they had to move us to one of their other properties. We were not happy about this. We booked las Americas because it was an adult only property and they moved us to one that was not. Then they tried to make us sign something saying that we voluntarily asked for this change, we crossed through everything saying we did not voluntarily Request this. They didn’t offer a reason other than we wouldn’t want that room, and there was issues with it, I think they overbooked and possibly because we booked through a third-party Expedia they thought they could move us with the least resistance.
