We stayed here for four nights. We had a lot of fun with in the pool areas and it was great that we were able to visit the Riu Cancún for shows and visit their pools. My biggest criticism would be the food/restaurants. The food was mediocre and we had to eat at one restaurant twice because there were 2 hours waits and one restaurant is only open for three hours, 6-9, which barely allows anyone to eat there. Our final night we were able to eat at the “ Black/White” restaurant but we felt extremely rushed after arriving exactly at opening time. We heard the hostess telling everyone who arrived after 6:30pm that no more names were being taken since they already had a long wait and they closed at 9pm. Rooms were great! Views were great! Beach was great!

Loved the friendliness, cleanliness, variety and quality of food, the architecture and decor. Did not like the person who arranged transportation back to the airport. He booked it for the wrong day and then was not helpful or apologetic at all when we were waiting for our private transport that we had already paid him for. Front desk employees overheard and were kind and helpful. Had to be a car service at the last minute for more money. Overall a wonderful place and vacation. Fabulous staff. Entertainment leaves a lot to be desired if you're not in your 20s and don't want to go to the offsite parties . Just simply playing some current (or even 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s) in the theater each night -room to dance-would be super helpful and appreciated. Many people we spoke to agreed. Same w poolside. Just play some hits instead of constant speaking on the microphone (trivia, bingo, or nothing.).

This was my second stay at a Riu Resort, but my first time in Mexico. Overall, I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Even the housekeeping team in the hallways greeted me warmly and were always willing to chat. On the downside, my first night was a bit rocky. My room had electrical issues affecting the outlets and the fan. I visited reception twice before someone came up to check it, but unfortunately the issue couldn’t be resolved. A friend then spoke with reception on my behalf, and they were able to provide a different room with a better view and fully functioning power, which made a huge difference. I truly appreciate everyone who tried to help resolve the situation. After that initial hiccup, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Riu Las Americas and would recommend it for the friendly staff and overall experience.

It was overall clean. They greeted us in the lobby with a mimosa and took our luggage to our room. Our view was amazing I recommend getting a balcony it makes all the difference. My only complaint was there would be wait times for the steak place the guy quotes me 1 hr to an hour and a half when there were empty tables. Other than that everything was great

Clean and safe. The not so good parts were closed restaurants, the open buffets were mediocre and my room key failed 3 times in one day. The staff were super at the pools and restaurants. The restaurants we ate at were very good. The theater is outside and very muggy and two shows were entertaining. Not much to do so a 3 or 4 day stay is plenty.

We didn’t like being close to the theatre, we go to sleep early and the theatre went on until 11, it was loud even in our room. We loved the staff, the room, the food, the lounge, the piano player everything was wonderful!
