This was my second time staying at this resort and our room definitely needed to be deep cleaned or remodeled, it was VERY wore down but we chose this hotel because of the staff. They are so amazing and welcoming, the resort is beautiful on the outside but the rooms just need to be cleaned a bit more or remodeled.

Very disappointed with my stay at RIU Cancun. For the price they charge, the rooms are extremely outdated with old furniture and nothing close to luxury. Definitely not worth the money. The toilet towels are like 1000 years old. The lobby is underwhelming and not impressive at all. The food was also below expectations for a RIU property, and there were almost no options for Muslim guests. What upset me the most was the birthday arrangement. I informed them clearly in advance that we do not consume alcohol and requested no alcohol in the room. They acknowledged it and said there would be a surprise with cake. Instead, they placed a tequila bottle in the room. When I called reception to complain and asked them to remove it, they didn’t even bother coming to take it back. they simply hung up the call. Completely unprofessional. Even when asking about visiting other riu properties, the response was basically “take a taxi” no shuttle, no assistance. Overall, a big NO for RIU Cancun in the future. For the amount they charge, you’re better off choosing a cheaper hotel with better service and updated rooms. Would not recommend.

The room was nice and clean, they have shampoo, body wash, conditioner, and body lotion. The service was fast! The drink and food are good! The lobby was beautiful, it had a small beach area so you have to come early if you want a good spot!

9/10 stay. My gf and I’s first time to cancún. We are pretty flexible so we didn’t really have any issues with anything that came with the resort! If anything, the food selection at the buffet could’ve been better but, it depends on the time you get there and if it’s fresh or not. But overall not bad. Definitely would stay here again!!

When we first got there, we walked in the room and it smells. It was still dirty the bed didn’t have any fitted sheets. The bed was brown. The toilet was broken. The girl at the front desk tried to blame me. It was all rotted out. We found two roaches in the room. I have four pictures to prove everything. I’ve already emailed RIU but they said I need to contact you guys.

Spotless facility. Rooms are clean and spacious. The evening shows and entertainment at the main stage are a lot of fun. Restaurants are decent. The snack bar by the pool has good food. Bar service and selection is excellent. The beach is lovely and I suggest long walks in the a.m. The biggest surprise and the only negative is there is no hot tub/jacuzzi in the pool area. Three pools and no hot tub!
