When I made the reservation for the RIU, the ad said adults only and all inclusive. What they didn’t say was, the adults wer averaging 20-35 years old, and “all inclusive” meant all the alcohol you can pour down your throat. They even had a bar open 24/7, and in your room, they had a rack of 4 bottles, and you help yourself; no extra charge. The hotel echoed everywhere, and people were screaming all day and night. I have no problem with people having a good time, just let me know up front and give me a chance to decide whether it’s for me or not. All inclusive means food also, the food was mediocre at best, and mainly fed to you via buffet. The first problem I had was, they gave me the wrong room, and they had the correct room in my reservation. When I asked the woman, Betty, at the front desk to change it for me, I got an attitude, and I had to vacate my room, and they wouldn’t let me into the new room until 3pm. Mind you I had prepaid my stay, the new room was ready by 10am, and it was only 2 rooms down from me. I will say, the staff I worked with were very accommodating, such as housekeeping and wait staff in the 2 restaurants I ate in. I’ve been going to Mexico for years, and had great times wherever I stayed. I won’t go to another RIU hotel again. It was expensive $308 per night, and not worth it. I felt like I was in one big frat house, that’s not why I go on vacation.

Sooo pretty! And friendly! The food was surprisingly good and there was a lot to do. We enjoyed that there was a quieter still beautiful pool area of the resort where we could relax and read. The "party" section was fun as well. There was a silent disco one night that was amazing. But for booking excursions go outside of the resort. Don't let the people walking on the beach scam you.

We loved our stay at RIU Cancun. The place is so vibrant and lively. The staff is amazingly nice and friendly. The entertainment team is awesome. The beach , oh the beach!!! We loved it bi HIGHLY recommend it

Fthis was our first time flying to cancun, Riu Cancun all inclusive (adults only) was a great place the service is impeccable i loved the staff they are all fluent in inglish and are very attentive to making your experience the best. They have a towel system thats good , drinks are limitless , i do suggest you take ur own tumbler if you are grossed out about using recycled cups ( great for the environment tho).. plus with a stainless steel tumbler ur drink would be cold longer a plus . The buffet was awesome i loved it for breakfast and dinner , i was a fan of the parfait bar and the jello yum! The resort offers tours and the beach is right there , theres like 5 pools ( i would use the ones on the side if you want to just relax . Entertainment was good! Over all love it ... the cons .. the hotel rooms themselves could use an upgrade but if you dont mind that its all good mini bar restocked everyday , nothing went missing from our room a total plus balcony view amazing ...

I have visited this property 3 times in the past 5 years and really enjoy it! The food can sometimes be hit or miss but due to the amount of options they have, your bound to find something you enjoy.

Went on a trip with a few of my boys, overall the trip was good. Although the resort rooms weren’t the best. The air conditioner in the rooms was absolutely terrible…literally was letting out warm air. The food wasn’t bad for an all inclusive. (We only had breakfast). For towels for beach/pool you need a card to rent the towel for the day. We didn’t know of this till we left Mexico and they charged us $59 USD (they never gave us towel cards). Also keep in mind they do not allow smoking by the pool or bars but there is a designated smoking/vaping area which is 5 feet from the pool, we didn’t understand what difference that 5 feet made but it’s a rule I guess. Overall I gave the place a 3.3/5!!
