The room air-condition couldn't go below 24.5C/76F and they couldn't do anything about it. They said all rooms were like this. The hotel is older and you can tell. Food is average. This is an all inclusive resort if your main focus is partying and drinking or on a budget. Riu parties are the best, the hotel isn't. The sports bar food is literally ham and cheese sandwiches, burgers, wraps, and chips with queso from a fridge. You then need to line up to use the single microwave that's available to all resort guests. One microwave.

Need more things to enjoy on the property because when you go off property everyone try to up sell, prices change with everything you try to do,everyone nice to you ontill you say no, they have a bad attitude ! Mexico is all about extortion! Very scary ! But some of the staff at RIU was pleasant !

I would never come back here…, mold on the walls…. Extortion turn up…..they have no activities for an adult only resort….. everything shut off at 7pm….. they sell cheap liquor for the all inclusive packages…., food disgusting…….

Just returned from an amazing stay at Riu Cancún, and I have to say the resort itself is absolutely stunning. The location is unbeatable—right on the beach with crystal clear water, incredible views, and beautifully maintained grounds. The pools are lively, the staff is friendly, and the overall atmosphere makes for a great vacation. That said, while everything else exceeded expectations, the food selection left a bit to be desired. It wasn’t terrible, but it definitely didn’t match the quality of the resort’s other amenities. Some of the buffet options were repetitive and even stale, and the specialty restaurants could use more variety and authenticity. The rooms are also falling apart. The hotel needs a renovation to live up to its name in my personal opinion. Still, the overall experience was fantastic, and I’d definitely return. Just hoping to see a bit more effort and creativity in the kitchen next time around!

The staff was very welcoming and friendly. The facility was clean and well kept. The dinner options were better than expected after reading other reviews. All in all this stay was well worth it! Will visit again soon.

Overall, the resort was amazing. From the live entertainment, the different restaurants, the scenic views, and the staff. I also loved being able to go to the other RIU location to experience the RIU party. If I could change anything it would be the air conditioning. We felt like it didn’t produce super cool air.

The property is at a great location walking distance to Coco Bongo. The loud pool was disgusting it was very packed with people and it seemed like they didn’t get up to go to restroom. The food restaurants are not as good they need more variety.
