This resort had amazing, kind and happy staff. It was clean. LUIS was amazing!!! Got our room upgraded for us to the junior suite and was super nice and welcoming and available for anything we needed. The resort is Very close to the very to get over to Isla Mujures. Close to hotel zone and the isla mall. We stayed in the junior suite and it had great views. I strongly suggest booking a room with an ocean view as any other view will be a street or another resort which is not very nice. The food options were just okay. The a la cartels had decent menus but nothing that gave the wow factor. Luckily we were able to try some authentic Mexican tacos off the resort. The beach was small but very clean. Hard to find loungers and they are limited but the beach bar is close. Lots of boat traffic in front of the beach, it did not bother us but we were not aware that they would be there when booking. The bar staff and staff who bring you drinks around the pool and the beach were so friendly and so amazing. Great at their jobs and we were always served at the bar within less than 30 seconds. Our only BAD experience with his resort was one of the concierges trying to trick us into going to a “presentation” at their sister resort which was pitched to us as being able to spend the day there as if we would our own resort but only to find out it was a 2 hour presentation where they try to force you and guilt trip you into getting a time share at the other occidental hotel.

The Resort was super gorgeous and kinda on the smaller size which was kinda nice. The bars an d drinks are amazing. There were lots of food options but I will say the food was just okay, but the restaurants are delicious!

I stayed here with 6 of my friends for a college spring break and we had a lot of fun. Food was pretty bad I will not lie, and the drinks didn’t have much actual alcohol in them but after enough it did the trick. The staff was great, everyone was very nice and fun. We especially liked Jose the bartender and the buffet and Mexican restaurant servers. Overall we had a great time, it was very affordable, but the food could have been better.

Run down. We had to have the fridge replaced, the dresser drawer fixed and the bathroom sink fixed from a leak that got everything on the vanity wet. That was the 2 nd room. First room was so loud at night and we can’t hear! Paint scrapings all over the balcony. Second room did not have balcony…super dissatisfied/dissapointed!

We loved staying at Occidental Costa Cancún! The staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable, safe, and fun. The buffet food is great (vegetarian friendly), and we loved our servers Vanilly, Alfredo, and the hostess Maria Jose. There are many activities every day throughout the day and night, giving you endless entertainment. There was no need to ever leave the resort, but there are people on property that can help you with going wherever you want to go (promoters activity people). The entertainment crew including Gio and Laura were so high energy and engaging. We loved our daily zumba dance classes! The drinks are great, and there are options for everyone. All of the bartenders were very quick and kind, especially Lucio at the beach bar. The barcelo drink was a group favorite! Each night the staff sets up a stage with a show (Michael Jackson, magician, dance party, etc.) which kept us busy and made the nights very enjoyable. As a group of young women, we felt safe at this resort. The resort is definitely kid friendly as well. There are plenty of chairs at both the beach and pool for whichever you prefer! Rooms themselves were standard, good for sleeping and showering, but otherwise we didn't spend much time in the room. Overall, we would recommend this resort to anyone looking to have a relaxing vacation with some fun resort activities for a good price.

Just got back from an amazing stay at Occidental Cancun, and I can’t recommend it enough! The resort is stunning, with beautiful beaches, crystal-clear water, and top-notch service. The food was fantastic—so many delicious options at the buffet and specialty restaurants. The staff went above and beyond to make our trip special. Whether you’re relaxing by the pool or enjoying the entertainment, there’s never a dull moment. Can’t wait to come back!

Hotel is okay though very small compared to the guests. Main buffet area is the smallest i have been to in an all inclusive hotel as we have to make lines to wait to be seated at a table...needs expansion of the main buffet area or atleast another one...food was okay, same meals almost everyday. I liked the snack bar area. Also needs another pool as the only one available is always jam packed. Beach area was not the best, just sand piled up with few beach lounges plus water is limited as the area is mainly used for boats docking..overall it was an okay experience...would i stay here again(no, unless its expanded) i would rather add money and go to the sister hotel- tucancun as i visited it for a day and it was the opposite ( very nice beach plus clear waters and very spacious environment)..

This property is great for the price. 4 restaurants and if you stay over 3 nights you get 1 special dinner at one of them. If you stay 4 nights and more, you get 2 special dinner reservations. It is really easy to reserve, and you don't need to worry about waking up at 7. I arrived on Feb 26 and stayed there for 5 days. I love you can take the ferry to Isla Mujeres for only $31.00 a trip. I took my family and had a wonderful time. My room had plumbing problem, and I phoned the front desk, and they sent someone to fix it right away. I think they have good service but the facilities are older. It has a snack bar opened for 24 hours and you will never be hungry. It also has a restaurant opened all day so you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner. It has entertainment every day in case you don't want to go out and explore the area. If you want to go see live music, the hotel has a restaurant right beside with live music, you just need to do a two-minute walk on your right-hand side after 10:00pm and you will see the small little bar and for two nights I saw the nice band playing. I wish they had a laundry in the facilities. Overall, you will have a good time and don't listen to the negative comments.
