I am a repeat guest at Royal Sands over past 23 years. Many things have changed but many things remain the same. So many long term staff, familiar faces year after year. Service is impeccable. The long hours by so many of the staff I believe is unnoticed by many guests. I was quite pleased with food options this year, alternating dinner menu and buffet - enjoyed every meal.

Food was really good, especially at Sideline Sports bar. Service was great. Resort staff was friendly greeting always with a smile. We also enjoyed the credits the resort gave us, buying souvenirs and sponsoring the Chichen Itza excursion. We really appreciate it, thank you Dylan. The only downside, at the excursion to Chichen Itza, if you go there as a first time, the store will sell you stuff at a very exaggerated price, helped by the guide of the tour who will make you believe you are buying original anf unique products, when in fact there were dozens of street vendors around the archeological site selling the same souvenirs at a far more convenient price. Overall it was a great experience!

The property is very well maintained and clean. The staff were so accommodating and friendly above and beyond. The suites are nice with the ocean view but the bathroom was outdated and lacked a matching appeal with the resort and suite decor. The food was not really tasty and lacked flavor, was cold most of the time.

The system at the hotel does not work. They require to use your room key card for EVERYTHING. Need a towel? You need a room key. Need to order something poolside/beachside? They take your card. You are left waiting for long periods of time because they don’t have enough staffing to make that rule work efficiently and effortlessly. Additionally, the food left something to be desired. The only real options were buffet, (unless you want to wait to eat dinner at 9:30 with young children) because those were the first available reservations for their reservation-only restaurants. Also- if you love to tip, please go cashless or with the right amount of bills. They are a cashless resort in every aspect. Last but not least, the rooms had a lot of moisture/ possibly mold issues. We were congested the entire stay. Would not be visiting this resort again.

Loved the one bedroom option. We didn't use the kitchen but nice to have. Our beach front balcony was incredible. Dated but very clean and well kept. Decor in the room was nice and modern. Staff were quite friendly, especially Moises. He remembered my fav drinks. Beach and pool side service was nice. Food at the buffet was delicious and it was nice to have different lunch/ dinner options. Breakfast was the same everyday but we didn't mind because everything was good. My daughter especially loved the crepes. Shuttle to sister resort was an excellent option. Their buffet was very authentic Mexican and right on the water. Great spot. Water park was great for the kids and the sports bar was nice too. Sushi was not very good and it's too bad there wasn't a lobby bar or espresso bar. Kids got kicked out of the sports bar at 8 so not much to do after that with the kids. Reservations for restaurant seemed very limited and we weren't able to watch the show as it filled up too fast.

We have stayed here several times and everything has been great. This time the pool water was cold. Not sure why but even in the nice warm weather is wasn't really comfortable in the pool because of this

Great hotel! Keep in mind that it is kid friendly so it will be a little busy around the pool.
