Hotel convenient to city center, train station; not the tidiest neighborhood but didnt feel unsafe. Affordable. Hotel room is satisfactory, clean, basic, not noisy. Check in staff was very pleasant but Had to put in a lot of effort to get dry towels, which accounts for the lower review. On checkin I initially declined daily service, but the shower (standard European shower with short door—but good water pressure and temperature, by the way) caused a lot of wetness/splash on the floor, so extra towel used for the floor. Requested dry towels the next morning, returned to hotel late in evening. No new towels. As there is no land line phone in room, we just Brought wet towels down to desk to ask for replacement. Told towels would be sent up. 90 min later, no towels, not even the wet ones. Went down to desk again, towels arrived 20 min later. Resolved but a basic hotel amenity that required more effort than it should have.

Room was nice overall, and the staff friendly. The only drawback was that since the room faced the prevailing winds, it was chilly at times on the 6th floor. When I had a shower, the wash gel was empty. I mentioned this to staff on check-out and I’m sure that the gel will be refilled.

Extremely friendly reception staff when we arrived. They even tried to find us a room when we arrived in the morning to drop our bags. Room was clean, bed very comfortable, and one of the best showers I've ever stood under.

Hotel has had a revamp. Clean and modern. Great check in staff, rooms comfortable and spacious. Breakfast amazing. All staff we encountered were friendly & helpful. Close to city centre, but far enough out from the noise of the city. We will definitely be staying again.

This is the first time I ever stayed in this hotel.Most of the budget friendly hotels I have ever stayed in were very disappointing but this one exceeded my expectations.On arriving, straight away the staff were polite and very efficient. The rooms were simple but clean and comfortable. The buffet breakfast was quite good. I will definitely be staying at this hotel again the next time I am in Birmingham.
