One night stay after concert

Nice hotel - bar and restaurant had a upmarket feel. Suprised that no security at 11pm at night - just walked in, to the lifts and up to our room. No requirement to use our room keycard before the lift would operate. Bed was comfortable, but creaky when getting in and out. Sheets fresh, but small mark on one pillow sratched off with fingernail, so felt like perhaps it wasn't fresh for us. Room well equipped, iron, ironing board, safe, fridge (with two waters in it). Ensuite well equipped and towels nice quality. The sound proofing not brilliant. Not the hotels fault, but we could hear police sirens and car horns until 4am Saturday morning. Breakfast was a highlight. Good quality full English and someone cooking omelettes and fried eggs to order. Nice bean to cup coffee machine and a brilliant waffle maker! Will be back, but would need to work out a quieter room before I book again. Checkout was automatic, drop your keycard in a box on reception. Would have been nice if the receptionist (who was free and directly next to the keycard box) had offered to take the cards and engage with me to ask how was our stay and look forward to seeing us again.

The food delivered to my room , was under cooked as in club sandwich . The onion rings over cooked . The work that was going on near my room made it impossinle to sleep and work . The curtain in 711 wouldn't close all way and let in the light. There was music playing loud at one point. I had traveled 4 hours to get to the hotel and i lt was of a poor standrad for Hilton .

Great location, good value

Great location in the nicer bit of Birmingham city centre with tram stop just round the corner and most of the attractions on the area. Good value hotel, breakfast had some nice touches like the fresh egg service! We had a problem with the heating in our first room (and the bed was like a plank) but there was an amazing manager on reception when we mentioned it and he was BRILLIANT (and I'm so sorry I didn't catch his name) he truly got 'customer delight' which turned what was a bit of a disappointment into a lovely stay. Thank you.

Average hotel stay, not a 4 star hotel rating

Stayed for one night at the Hilton Garden Inn to attend the British Athletics. Cleanliness: Requested for a change of bedding- the duvet/duvet cover was covered in stains. Staff was helpful and changed the bedding. Bathroom: Shower- no hot water, luke warm, kept changing temperature. Comfort of bed: Very uncomfortable, solid, hard bed, poor nights sleep. Room comfort: Thermostat was faulty, would not change temperature, stayed at 25 degrees and was really hot and uncomfortable. Noisy room: Lots of outside noise, could hear outside the hotel. Overall an average hotel stay, not a 4 star hotel rating, same as a basic Travelodge stay but triple the price.
