The woman at the front desk appeared out "out of it" as she startled me from behind. As I approached the lobby I heard a woman's voice behind me saying "how's it going?". I was startled due to the sound of her voice and her appearance. She did not look like hotel staff. After going through an awkward 10 minutes checking in we headed to our room. The room appeared rundown and smelly. My wife decided to go to the pool with my son as I tried to relax in the room. As I'm relaxing I get repeated calls from my wife requesting that I come to the pool. After a while I decided to go see what is going on in the pool area. As I made my way to the pool area approaching the gate I noticed what appeared to be a homeless man darting out of the pool and out of the pool area. I was in shock as the homeless man my wife and were the only people at the pool area. The homeless man ran off before I could ask him what he was doing there. I then went to the front desk where the same homeless looking receptionist was and explained what happened. She dismissed it as nothing and then had the nerve to call me a wife beater. I then called the sheriff department. To my astonishment, the deputy did not care at all that random homeless people were using the hotel swimming pool. I was shocked as it is obviously dangerous having random homeless people using the pool where children are playing. There is no excuse for what I experienced and San Clemente as a whole should be ashamed.

This hotel is that a great location! The people that work there are super friendly :-) it’s unfortunate how rundown the carpeting is and how poorly cleaned the outside area is. There was mud and food on the elevator from when we arrived until when we left that haven’t gotten cleaned up. Casablanca has great potential… Just needs an upgrade IMHO!

Even though it was a bit older, I enjoyed my stay. The location was close to the beach, shopping & lots of restaurants. I could see the ocean out my front door! Nice pool area but I didn’t have time to indulge. Loved the spa tub though!!! Beautiful town and the free shuttle is a plus!

The suite itself was very nice but the pullout bed coukd be better and the shower head.We had to call for fresh towels.Housekeeping never came to our room, we were there for 5 dayys.

The woman during check in was unpleasant, it was like I was annoying her for checking in. He service toward the gentleman before me was the same. That was the horrible part of the stay. Awful. Stay away. Better options out there.

Service was poor. No manager on duty on weekends. Fresh blood on the sheets. Just wanted a quick getaway to relax on the beach and to grab dinner on a Saturday night. Arrived at 4pm for check-in time. There was a line of 6 people in front of me and only one person working the desk. When it was my turn, my room won’t be available until 5. I was told I could wait by the pool. At 5pm, there were 3 people working the desk and was told housekeeping needed another 20 minutes. Apparently housekeepers didn’t show up and the ones there had cleaned the wrong rooms. Finally at 5:40pm (an hour and 40 minutes after check-in), our room was ready. We missed our dinner reservations and didn’t get to relax on the beach. While the front desk worker gave me a discount, we didn’t get to enjoy the evening as expected. We pivoted to make the most of it. When it was time for bed, I noticed there were drops of blood on the sheets; not old blood that had been through the laundry, but bright red dried blood. I wasn’t bleeding anywhere so it had to be staff who folded the sheets or put the bed together. It was the worst hotel experience I’ve had. We wanted a do not disturb sign, which some doors had, but no one was at the front desk (we waited 5 minutes and gave up) around 9:30 am. The day before they said they were going to leave a note for the manager to help, but upon checkout front desk said it’s a small boutique hotel that was trying their best and there was no manager again today.

The property is just ok for the price. We booked the rooms for our wedding and honeymoon. We also book 7 different rooms for our family members. The staff was very inconsiderate and did not even say anything or nice enough to say. Congratulations on our wedding day. My daughter never got her incidentals Funds $100 transferred back to her bank account. We will not be back.

Terrible!!!!

We paid extra for two balcony rooms and didn’t get either one. I have contacted the hotel several times to try and get a refund for the extra price and either the phone is busy or goes to their answering service and I never get a phone call back. So I would not recommend them. Mold in the bathrooms, toilets that back up and you have to plunge them and fix them yourself, no room clean up or towel refresh (you can go pick towels at the front desk if you need them), piping in the bathroom that would wake the dead it’s so loud, limited parking, and doors that slam closed in a dangerous manner. I really hope that management read this because something should change at this place. And I think hotels.com should not allow them on their site. They don’t follow through on the rooms that you book and they dodge your calls constantly. Take your money elsewhere, it’s worth it.

Horrible stay

We were attending for a family reunion/90 birthday party for my grandmother and we booked two rooms since it was close to the party. Unfortunately this stay was ATROCIOUS!!! When we booked it originally for Friday and Saturday it was $370 then when the party got moved back one day and we wanted to add one more day, on a Sunday it was $275 alone. So we checked in & the rooms were exceptionally dated. My room had no shelves in the shower but my parents connecting room had them. There was black mold on the walls in the shower & molding was falling apart. They do not clean the rooms unless you ask and even then they told us they only change the trash. We had to call about towels & were told that we could come down and pick them up in 20 minutes. On the last night, the toilet malfunctioned & almost flooded the room. When I called the desk they said maintenance went home for the night so I could either come down & get the plunger from them (again in 20 minutes) or they could have maintenance come in the next day at 10am, which we were checking out early in the morning. The breakfast was definitely lacking. I was so frustrated by the entire experience of staying there that it put a small damper on my attitude at our party. Absolutely not worth the money. I’ll pay the extra to go elsewhere to not have the “figure it out yourself, don’t know what to tell you” attitude. Don’t recommend them.
