What a beautiful well maintained property with fabulous gardens and wildlife, food was excellent and staff were very helpful and friendly, use of kayaks was great and the entertainment staff were great!

Was nice. This was our 4th stay,and sadly not sure if we eill return. Front desk check in staff not helpful or personable. We received a "free "upgrade to privilege due to an iffy experience in 2020, they were great in honoring it but didnt want togive us the amenities that came with it we had spent our first day at the desk qith issue after issue. Our room key only worked every other time. Weended up having to get new bands after the 5th time going to reprogrammed. We got a room in building 2 when we were originally told wed be in villa 7. Was not able to log into the link to reserve dinners, lots of people had same issues. So we ended up eating off resort more the at because we couldn't get any reservations, had to go to guest services to book. Wed get there at 8 am and theyd tell us there was nothing available for dinners. They were kind to us and let us paycash as we were not told we had to use a credit card, then we had issues with them accepting and cash that had a defect at all, it had to be perfect or they would not take. The bartenders and oyther employees were great and even manager was ok as he worked with us about paying. . They need all new front desk guest service staff

The pros: Quick & easy check in, friendly staff. Lots of random places to sit down and enjoy a drink or chat. Buffet food was decent. We ate at the Japanese, Mexican, Italian & Steakville a la cartes and the food was very good! The burger bar was also good. The snack bar was just okay as it was quite basic. The pools were pretty good. The beach is close enough to the pools you don't have to decide between a beach day and a pool day. The spa was good. We did a couples massage and hydrotherapy. Very close to the Puerto Aventuras marina (walk or rent golf carts), neat shops and great food! The cons: THE SMOKING. EVERYWHERE. They have signs all over which say no smoking/vaping yet there were people at the beach/swim up bars/pools, all puffing their faces off. We had two toddlers & a baby in our party and I was pissed about how they were allowed to do this as it wafted to us all the time. The buffets & snack bar are closed from 5-6pm so there's nothing to eat except at the sandwich & crepe carts (which had lines & minimal menus). Again, signs everywhere that you can't reserve beach chairs but you literally had to be at the beach/pool before 7am to get a chair as EVERYONE reserved them then left to eat or go back to their rooms. They need more chairs & DEFINITELY more umbrellas. People had loud speakers in the lobby bar with obnoxious music which made it hard to converse. Be aware that if you don't book Privileged, you can't eat at BLoved! Sand wasps in the kid's playground.

Our experience was great. Hotel was very clean and easy access to all the amenities. Only thing my wife didn’t like the loose animals roaming aroundthe facility. Even though they were harmless,some people may not feel as comfortable around them.

All was good but I didn’t understand why the spa is only included one time during the booking. If it is all inclusive why this kind of restriction. Hotel and spa all inclusive?

Beautiful property, great food and service. A little frustrating with trying to book restaurants and with people reserving beach chairs although they weren’t supposed to. Would definitely go back!

They use the cheap liquor and do not open until 11am. Food was ok but not great. Our room was great and good AC. We won't return

All the staff and peoples there were so friendly we stayed 7 nights. Lots to do kayak learn to surf and snorkel. Many pools many parties and entertainment! Many bars and fab cocktails. Food all around fresh and delicious! Beaches were clean and water was clear. Only down side was getting up at early to attempt to reserve dinner at one of the fancy restaurants on site 7:55am til 8:05 is your window to try to log on and the process is a pain also. I unfortunately see how that would make many couples have an argument first thing in the morning which is sad. Glad we went with friends they got into dinner some nights and a couple others we did. At the end everything was amazing!

First time to Catalonia Riveria Maya resort it was all we wanted for a first visit. Are newly renovated room was first floor and garden view which was quiet when we needed it and the pool and its activities were entertaining. Food from buffet was really good, yes it had some repeated items, but new additions were added keeping it with a good variety. It was a chore to book ala cart restaurant's but between the app and the concierge was manageable. Drinks were plentiful and cold. I enjoyed my beer while sweeti enjoyed her mojitos Overall wonderfull time.

It is a beautiful property, the vibe is very Mexican compared to other resorts. The beach area and lagoon for snorkeling and swimming is lovely! Staff were all friendly and welcoming. Recommend to book as privelage guests to take advantage of ALL the resorts amenities.
