Barcelo maya was everything we wanted. The beach was absolutely beautiful. But the main reason i chose this resort was for the snorkling right off the beach. It did not dissapoint. It was absolutely beautiful with coral and fish and sea turtles all in their natural environment. My son and i would definitely come here again.

A lot of things to do at the resort, friendly staff, and especially hard working managers - helping me find my missing valuable items that was in the lost and found. Super emotional and frustrating, took them 6 days to locate my items but just glad I was able to leave with them. A lot of restaurants in the whole Barcelo resort, good eats, great room service and nice beaches all around. Overall, would come back again.

The property is beautiful. The pools and beach are clean, well maintained and fantastic. The a la cart restaurants are veru good but not too many options for food selections. A little disappointed on the drink / alcohol selections; only one white wine and red wine to choose from, lower level bottles of alcohol in the all inclusive. The room was beautiful, spacious, huge bed, wonderful shower and water pressure. The staff was friendly and attentive. The spa and amenities like the gym were beautiful. Lacked places for a sit down breakfast or brunch, only option was buffet which was a disappointment.

Barcelo Palace is located in a huge bay that is home to sea turtles, sting rays, baracuda, lobsters, and all kinds of fish. Snorkeling from the shore is amazing. They have many activities that you may participate in. Some are extra $, but many are free. If you book a premium room, access to the hydrotherapy spa is included daily. The sailboats are available for everyone to use. If you're not sure how to sail, a guide will go with you - Manuel was our favorite. There are many restaurants to choose from. All 3 in the palace are wonderful. Other favorites include the habachis at Tokyo and Kyoto. At Kyoto, Chef Augusto was very entertaining! The morning meals are buffet style, also delicious! One waiter stood out - Omar made sure are coffee and water glasses were always full. If yiu are interested in cenotes, there are 5 right the main highway. In all, it's a wonderful spot!

The property has beautiful grounds and is maintained immaculately. The pool and beach are both amazing, I recommend bringing your own snorkelling gear to swim with turtles right off of beach. The service was hit and miss, but I believe that was due to high season and unfortunately it didn’t seem like enough staff to care for all of the guests. We received better service at the pool from Nayamin Yerena, than we did at all of the buffets. There are a lot of a la cart restaurants but booking dinner reservations was a challenge even with the Premium Level, best perk was private check in and out and access to lounges. For our family I don’t think the premium would be worth the upgrade if we paid for it. Not sure if the resort can do anything about loungers, but if you don’t get up at 0630 and start “reserving” a chair then you won’t have one by the time you get done with breakfast. This goes for the pool and beach, some people even drug chairs out to the beach from the pool. All of this even though there is signs everywhere that state reserving chairs is prohibited. Overall we had a good experience but unfortunately this time no “wow” factor.

Nice stay and beautiful resort. Overall a great vacation. Your policy on getting chairs around the pool and beach needs to be updated.pool attendants need to monitoe unused chairs being held. Just got back from our stay, we had a party of 8 for a private wedding ceremony on the beach. The hotel was overbooked and did not have a room for me and my husband. They made it seem like a great thing for us to be upgraded to the adults only resort. The staff was very rude, they did not explain things after waiting an hour for our checking in process. When we got over to the adults only the staff was very nice and were able to explain the overbooking and we now were able to understand what happened. My daughter in law was crying with my son and 2 small children waiting over 2 hours for them to get into there room. Plus she was so upset that we were not at the same place when we all booked together for this family vacation with the ceremony. After this day we were not able to get into the same restaurant for any of our dinners related to being overbooked. We made the most of our stay related to being in Mexico and the weather was great. Will never recommend this resort or be back.
