Staff were all very helpful. Room I got was subpar and not as advertised on web. I injured myself on the very poorly constructed bathtub entrance. The place is two worlds. The new part, where I got an upgrade after my injury was okay, and the subpar room way not so. I got an email just before going there that for an additional $14 per day I could get a room upgrade, and when I arrived found there was an additional "Urban Destination Fee" of $25 per day. Thin walls, and ceilings, and below average cleanliness. All folks there were nice, but it is a bait and switch for rooms and many complaints were heard about the restaurant on site, which I didn't go to, but dissatisfaction seemed the rule for other guests I spoke with. The place is struggling.

We were greeted by stepping on dog poop in the lobby and we checked out with vomit all over the lobby, and my daughter found a dead mouse in the pool. Not to mention other crazy guests that stayed on our floor screaming and cursing at us and accusing us of disturbing her dog and all the other dogs on the floor by slamming our room door, as we were walking down the hall to our room as we returned from a nice dinner in town. This was for sure our SH&$%EST hotel stay ever! Literally speaking

Cute, clean rooms and lobby!

It’s super cute and the staff worked hard to be warm professional and friendly— all seemed so young and eager to please. I’d give it a 5 across the board EXCEPT when I checked in they gave me a key to an occupied room! Thank God the occupants were not in the room. We opened the door, peeked in and quickly closed the door and scurried away. That was not cool! Made me uneasy that someone might barge in my room so made sure the door was locked when I was in the room. And every time I left I was paranoid that my valuables might disappear while I was away (took my laptop and left it in the car whenever I left the hotel). Nothing ever happened and all was fine. Far away (12 minute drive) from everything you’ll want to do in Newport, but it’s cute. All fabric covered seats in the restaurant need to be replaced— the peach upholstery was stained and gross.
