Was an outdated hotel with a fresh coat of paint. WORSE - why I won't stay there again and be very suspect of Hyatt is - they did the add on a resort fee on your check out bill, when that never was disclosed in the price while choosing the hotel or checking in. Get that you want more more - but a fraudulent way that shows Hyatt's true caring about their customer - just want your money.

Upon arrival we were given a room at a building that was older than the two main buildings, Catalina and Balboa. We requested a room change, which they agreed to do for an extra nightly charge. We stayed in the 3rd floor in the Catalina building. The hotel ambience was nice, with beautiful holiday decorations. The food and bar staff were awesome! Also, the room cleaner was wonderful. I was surprised when she called me by my name, addressing me with a "Miss" and my first name. She was friendly and sweet! Given all three amenities and location we would stay again.

Bedding was so bad. Pillows flat and hard, mattress same. Rooms have not been ulgraded in decades. We chose Hyatt because you can rely on a comfy bed and decent room. This was not that at all. However the staff was absolutely amazing.
