Room was spotless, staff were very helpful, spoke to two receptionists and cafe staff, all were lovely. The hotel was fresh, modern and in good order. It's close to the tram and within a 5 minute walk of the CBD, Australia Fair, 5 minutes to Marine Parade, 5 minutes to a tram to take you to Surfers, the Broadwater etc.
Minor niggles - the beds are a bit low, though they were quite soft and comfy.
Could not get the safe to work, but that was probably just me being daft, if it was important enough to get it working I am confident reception staff would have helped me, but it was a one night stay so I wasn't that fussed.
Curtains would be good as well as the blinds, if you find that light wakes you. It wasn't terrible but the room was certainly not pitch black.
The room was quite minimalist, but clean and neat. It's a budget hotel, so not flash but it had everything necessary including a hairdryer and kettle. I was very happy with it.
The cafe in the foyer is open 7-10am, the coffee was excellent, there was a vending machine and there's a convenience store and restaurants 2 minutes away just across the park in Southport Central.
