Nice location, but hot room

Pros: Across the road from the beach.
Cons: Reception system. Airconditioning.
The reception system is clunky and frustrating. Cars gather up outside at 2pm and 10am. Not sure why one of the receptionists was making popcorn next to the reception desk at busy check in time. The $10 breakfast deal across the road was good. No airconditioning, so very noisy with the windows open (Harley Davidsons, children ringing bicycle bells at midnight, morning dogs barking). The full blast of morning sun was not cooled by the wobbly old ceiling fan.

Worst Hotel Stay Ever

Pros: Nothing only good thing is the location to the beach
Cons: Everything
I was very disappointed in my stay at the Chateau Beachside as it was nothing like what the photos online showed. For a hotel to false advertise with photos that are 100 times better than what it really looks like is just wrong. Our room was falling apart the door handle was damaged which caused us to feel unsafe, above the door the plaster has been bashed in and has mould growing, the bathroom ceiling wasn't safe as you could lift it up, the vents were full of dust, the couches and bed didn't feel clean, the carpet and walls has numerous stains. When we spoke to the staff about this and expressed that we weren't happy/felt safe with our room they said they would come look and then proceeded to tell us that it was 'a old building' so what would we expect and that the manager was away for the night so they couldn't do anything about it till the next day which we never heard from them again! All we wanted was a room change to something that looked like the photos we seen or even a refund to go somewhere else that would at least be clean and safe!

Very old dated.....but great view

Pros: VIEW
Cons: Everything ....paint peeling off roof....fans replaced etc.....
Amazing amazing view. Lady at front desk not very helpful at all. Did not explain carparking etc... The view was to die for. When we had a bath all of the rust came out of the old jets in the spa bath which did not work. The fans were so old they hardly worked. I think some money spent on décor would work wonders.

Good views, terrible staff, dirty rooms

Pros: The view from our hotel room. The free parking.
Cons: Hire reception which are better in customer service. Upgrade hotel rooms - Paint, bathrooms, air conditioners.
Location: The location is amazing, right in front of surfers paradise.
We stayed on the 17th floor studio room, as soon as we got in, the reception was really unfriendly like they didn't want any more customers, we asked if we could check in early and she acted like we made an outrageous request and proceeded to show us a paper which said our check in time is at 2pm. We left our bags at the hotel and they gave us a little slip to collect that when we check in. However when we came to check in I gave the reception lady the slip, She refused to give me our bags until I told her what colours they were even though they have the correct tags and our bags were the only ones behind reception. The hotel is really dated and needs an update, the rooms were really dirty, we could see crud in the door sills, in between the bathroom tiles and we saw multiple cockroaches in our room. To top it all off, on our second day at 7AM an emergency evacuation alarm went off, we were all forced to run down the stairs from the 17th floor straight after waking up. The voice on the alarm was saying "This is not a false alarm. Please make your way down to reception. Emergency! Emergency!" and ironically enough when we made it all the way down the reception, it was a false alarm... We then went back upstairs, and the alarm went off again and kept going off and it took them 10 minutes to get it to stop. It was so bad, we checked out the day before we were suppose to check out and moved into another hotel nearby.

Cons: Please get your cleaning staff to pull out the beds and wipe down the dust and bugs behind the beds. carpets need to be replaced .
The rooms need a good clean. I had to pull the bed out to get to a power point and noticed behind the bed was dirty and dusty not good to allergy sufferers . the tracks in all windows and cupboards need cleaning I Realize they are rusty but they where also dirty. No air conditioning very noisy due to having to keep all windows open because of no Air conditioning We were awake most of the night someone on level 6 must have forgotten there keys and proceeded to knock / bash on the door repeatedly after midnight for about an hour .
