33 Anniversary it was absolutely wonderful !!! Room and the view was absolutely beautiful the front deskworkers the maids and everyone who we seen working here was so friendly !!!! The only thing was a microwave in the rooms would be the only thing that we missed !!!!

The staff was wonderful. From the minute we pulled in the whole staff was very helpful and friendly. Perfect way to start a vacation! Place is very clean. We had a great first night with live music outside overlooking the ocean.

The location and staff are both excellent but beyond that the beach vacation experience was very average. The hotel doesn’t offer umbrellas and chairs for guests - they are available to rent from a third party company. The way it’s designed is not really conducive for bopping between beach and pool and it didn’t seem possible to order drinks and food to the beach or pool unless we missed that. (The pool is right next to Roasted Marketplace and blu has outdoor seating on beach). We did dine at BLU the night we arrived out of convenience and found it to be very average. The property itself seems very dated (rooms and elevators) but it was fine for what we needed. The oceanfront room was nice but would have loved if the balcony was large enough for a couple of chairs to have coffee out there. If you’re looking for that classic relaxing beach vacation experience, this isn’t the place for it in my opinion.

Staff was pleasant except mgr on staff complained about bed bugs around time of check in still charged me for 1 night stay pool area over crowded room also had unhealthy odor and the hotel room floors were greasy ?? Would not recommend staying here also the area was very trashy hookers getting let off and standing on sidewalks at night bar music too loud overall would not recommend for families

Beautiful views! Hotel rooms need renovating

In person this hotel does not look like what is on the website video & pictures. We were very surprised & disappointed at the rooms and how run down they actually were in person. The front desk staff tried their best & were very kind in trying to help but there was only so much they could do. Everyone really was so nice. The lobby is lovely & the restaurants & shop as well. However the rooms need to be renovated & cleaned better for sure. A couple examples, floors were slimy feeling, first set of towels we got had hair on them, chairs had staining, there was staining on all the curtains & even the lampshades in the first room we were given.They need a good cleaning and better yet to be replaced. (Be aware that the pool/beach towels they supply are literally the size of a hand towel so it takes about 4 to lay them down to be the size large enough to lay on. ) That being said, the views from all the rooms is wonderful and the location couldn't be more convenient to everything Folly Beach and surrounding areas has to offer! Loved being able to take a quick 25 min ride into Downtown Charleston as well. However due to the state of the Tides rooms we would not stay there again. In addition we are dog lovers however even so, we were shocked at the amount of dogs. Could not get into the elevator or walk around the hotel without running into a dog. (albeit all were very friendly & sweet but still..) So if you are not a "dog person" I would caution to find a different place to stay.

Great place to unwind on the beach or enjoy the small pool. Solid drinks at bar and decent good. The staff is excellent especially Patrick at the front desk and the staff at the coffee place downstairs. Rooms themselves are ok not great but typically non-luxury beachfront hotel. Amazing location walkable to the endless number of bars, restaurants, and shops.
