I was nervous about this hotel due to some bad reviews, so I wanted to give my honest opinion. This a not a five star resort however, if you do your research you would know this. It’s five star service for sure! property is very clean, and very service oriented. We did not have a bad meal here, the Japanese was my favorite. I do want to give a shout out to everyone at this resort for making us feel like family, and a special shout out to Jordan, Guarneros, & Eleazar you all truly took care of our group all week. I will definitely be back. Thanks again for the hospitality.

We really enjoyed the hotel overall. The beach is nice. The swimming pool area is also pretty good. The only think that was slightly lacking was the food. The food was good for the first day but we then started realizing that it has a little too much butter and generally lacked a little bit of flavor. Still pretty good overall.

Overall had a good experience. The staff across the board—from check-in to customer service, entertainment, and the various restaurants—were warm and friendly. Traveling solo, I felt safe throughout my stay, which I truly appreciated. That said, there were moments I wished staff hadn't asked so openly about why I was alone. I understand it came from a place of kindness, but a bit more discretion would’ve been welcome. The food was enjoyable, with plenty of options to choose from. The breakfast buffet stood out as a highlight, and for dinner, the Teppanyaki grill was by far the best experience. Having room service available was also a great convenience. The hotel itself is very clean, though it does show its age. I was honestly surprised it’s considered a five-star property. While the key elements are there, it’s the small details that miss the mark. For example, my bathroom featured both a walk-in shower and a separate tub—which sounds luxurious—except the tub had rusted-over plugs, making it unappealing to use. Later in my stay, the bathroom ceiling even began to leak. I appreciated the more mature, relaxed crowd and loved that the beach was clean with good food and drink service. It would be a big plus if beach umbrellas were available or if unused elite cabanas could be opened up for general guest use. All in all, I had a pleasant stay with a few caveats. With some attention to detail and minor upgrades, this hotel could truly live up to its five-star rating.

i loved everything about it! the resort isn't too big so its easy to navigate, everything you need is right there, the staff are so lovely and made my birthday trip very special! i was also able to walk to a dive shop down the road for my booked scuba dives, as well as pick up some sunscreen for a great price at the pharmacy. the food options are wonderful and they are very accomodating to all dietary restrictions and allergies. the beach is beautiful, the cabanas are free and the entertainment is amazing. 10/10 Sandos, i will definitely be back!!

Once you check-in, you will be met with a staff member asking you to listen to their version of a time-share. Be aware of this as they will try to swindle you into watching their pitch and going on an inclusive tour for free prizes. The hotel is clean, but dated. Our room had rust marks on the floor as well as on the lamp shades. Food is mediocre, at best. We had a person in our group with a food allergy and they were met with raw chicken at the Japanese restaurant and could not eat at the Mexican Fiesta night due to cross contamination. If you want to eat at any of the three restaurants that take reservations, reserve well in advance. The morning of an excursion we ordered room service over an hour ahead of leaving and it never came. Friends also ordered that morning and got nothing that they actually ordered. We were told they would “write a report,” but that didn’t help matters as we had to leave the hotel at 7 AM for the excursion with empty stomachs. Overall, food was a disappointment. They will always ask if there’s a food allergy, which is appreciated though. Freddie, Casanova, and Fausto were fantastic at the pool with drinks. Jordan went above and beyond to help. Pools are cold, but beach was beautiful. You will need to get to the pool by 5 AM to reserve a cabana. Many times people put their things on a cabana to reserve it, but don’t come back during the day and the staff cannot touch personal belongings. Poolside music playlist is the same every day.

This place is absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. Great clean beach with lots of pool chairs and beds to relax and take in the ocean air . The staff is incredible and the service immaculate. The food is great with four different restaurants to choose from, all of which we enjoyed . Took the wife to the spa and she absolutely loved it .The three different pools ensures there is always one that isn't to crowded . The only thing we found to be a bit much was the music, every other day theres a pool party and the loud music becomes monotonous after some time . Overall tho we really enjoyed our experience here . 10/10 would recommend 👌
