The property was under a major reconstruction when we checked in over 1/2 the resort was blocked off. The noise of the jack hammers and saws all day long was terrible. Everyone had a headache every day and was not able to relax, then at night they run power washers cleaning the new tiles so you could hear that machine running till early morning hours. I called and questioned the construction as nowhere did it say there was construction and was asked to move to their sister hotel. I was told they would get back with me within 72 hours. 5 days later and I still never heard back from them.

Rooms were clean, we traveled with a group. Some complained that their neighbors were very loud. Our room smelled like sewage each and every day, likely from the shower drain. Lots of seaweed during September month, they tried their best cleaning it up. No champagne (for club members only, but they did serve red label. The food was mostly the same each day, we are not picky eaters but more variety was preferred. Maid service was great for us, some company complained that their sheets weren’t changed as frequently as they were supposed to be (every other day expectation). The fridge was not restocked regularly. Water bottles provided in the room but not restocked, mist use water dispenser in the hallway to refill. Many were too cold in the room, our temps were fine. Shows were great, restaurant food was great for the most part. Staff was great.

The room was not completely clean. The Tv did not work and they never came to look at it after I told them about it 2 times. The snack bar was not good and the buffet was ok. They never refilled the drinks in the room. Over all the staff were very nice.

The GR Solaris did not disappoint. Home away from home which was immediately clear when we arrived at the resort and were greeted “Welcome home”. We had a quick and easy check in. Check in is 3pm but our room was ready upon arrival at 1pm. We grabbed a drink from the lobby bar and headed up. Within minutes our luggage arrived and we were asked if there was anything we needed. The room was very clean and the mini bar was stocked. Since this time of year is considered ’slow season’, there were several major renovations taking place but that did not stop the entertainment staff from ensuring a fun time. Two of the three pools were completed renovated and the third was almost complete. The Don Gus restaurant between the pools was also newly renovated. We enjoyed quick and friendly service throughout the resort, bars and restaurants. Some notable staff include Yzrael, Vermon, Neftali and Marco to name a few. The Spa massage is a definite must. This was not our first time at the GR Solaris and we will definitely be back but there were a few things that were very disappointing. The bathroom was clean but the shower water pressure was low. The toilet was not working properly, the sink didn’t turn off and the shower door was missing the handle. I was able to fix the toilet, a minor adjustment inside the tank but we required service for the other items. The faucet was repaired and a temporary handle was installed on the shower door but no luck with the shower water pressure.

We couldn't access the beach at all. It was covered with seaweed. The hotel needs to clean it and have it ready for guests.

Our stay was wonderful! The staff was wonderful! The food was wonderful! The only thing that was an issue is that we were not notified that the main pool with the pool bar was closed for construction. Had that been open 10/10!

Me and my wife stayed 4 days in GR Solaris and we loved it. The food was amazing and the staff never say a no. Definitely we will comeback! Neftali at the bar was really amazing, very positive Attitude and give us really good service!
