Overall we were okay with the hotel. However you were NOT allowed to leave with food and were required to stay at the location and eat. There were not nearly enough activities and I was disappointed as I was looking forward these events and this is one reason why we selected this resort. A gentleman man slipped and fell at the adult pool and they failed to call the ambulance 🚑. Regardless if he said he was okay he was bleeding from his head and could have had a concussion or a brain injury. I understand this is not the US but regardless it should have been handled differently. Loved a select few staff members that helped us enjoy the stay.

Property was going through some renovations but otherwise lovely. They did give me the wrong room key and the room was occupied! Thankfully they weren’t in the room at the time. Staff were very apologetic afterwards.

I like the friendliness of staff. We return to the resort because we loved the food and the staff. However this year the buffet food options were very limited and they were very basic. This was disappointing as last year this was one of the highlights of the resort. They removed the taco dinning place. Our room’s shower had to run for several minutes before we could get hot water. I am really hoping that they reconsider the food menu as we enjoyed the rest of the amenities.

The property Is not well prepared for guests with limited mobility. Food is ok, choice of drinks are fine. Beach is nice, but even with almos calm, no waves sea the lifegards wont let you enjoy it beyond the 500 sqf near the shore, if you love to swim and float you wont be able to do so, it is anoying. My family and I just spent a week here and had a really great experience. Silvio in the Italian restaurant, Ivan in the buffet, Erika who served the beach, and Edgar in the café, thank you very much for a wonderful and memorable experience. Your service was excellent and you are all so kind and caring. The atmosphere of the resort was chill, never loud at night. The resort itself was beautiful. Food was good and enjoyable for an all inclusive. Overall very good experience and just what we needed for a hot relaxing getaway.

Very clean hotel, good for families. Beach is great. It was very windy when we visited and we heard wind whistling all times . Door should be fixed in our room. Food is ok, could have more choices in comparison with other Cancun hotels. All in all, positive experience.

I liked the friendliness and assistance from the staff. I enjoyed our room which was clean. I did not like the vanity sink. Water splashed on the floor and the vanity each time it was used. I disliked the long wait period to checkin.

We stayed at Grand Royal for a 3rd time and was very disappointed during our stay. The men at the front door concession entrance were rude, the restaurant food on the resort was bland, and at times not edible. Not allowing reservations with exception to one restaurant created long waiting times, and then staff was overwhelmed to keep up with attending the tables. The resort is worn down, rooms definitely need an upgrade. More than just paint, and the swim bars should stay open for longer at dinner to evening to allow time to play and drink longer. We came with our family and was told upon arriving that we would be together but later had to move rooms since beds did not accommodate all of our family. And once moved we could not stay together. The alcohol was watered down and very cheap alcohol to mix drinks which didn't make the cocktail taste good. The nacho and hamburger stand was okay but the nacho cheese was watered down so the nachos did not taste good since did not have much flavor. We had a good time visiting with our family but will not be returning to this resort. We thought since we had stayed before and enjoyed our time that we would have a great time but we had to go off property just to get a decent meal. We were excited to come back to Cancun but very disappointed, especially for the price with our stay at Grand Royal.

This hotel is a good option for families. The staff was great! They deserve a bonus! However, you have to wake up 6:00 am if you want to “reserve” a spot in the pool or beach chairs. There are more guests by far compared to the number of chairs available. I went to the pool at 7:30am and all the chairs have towels on it. The guests hold all the chairs so they can sit later in the day. I thought this was an absurd. I believe the hotel should have a policy against that. I was in a short 3 days trip and I had to wake up 6am in order to “reserve” a chair. The lunch option in the buffet wasn’t great either. Not variety at all and same menu every day.
