It was a great stay overall, which could have been a lot worse, but saved by the reception staff who helped us getting a different and much better room after disappointing realization of the studio unit being on the ground level, which is not what we expected especially for the fall/winter season.
PROS:
- the room (we ended up getting a room with two queen beds & mountain view on 6th floor) is clean and neat, with small kitchen with microwave and fridge.
- the view from the room is indeed unbeatable
- we liked the restaurant in the hotel (Sudden Sally); our favorites were chicken parmesan for lunch.
- hot spa area was another bonus, with shower and locker facility being quite handy
CONS:
- the AC/heater unit in the room is very loud/noisy, to the point we woke up whenever it started running again in the middle of the night when the temperature dropped; there is no way to adjust the noise level - you gotta either turn it off to get rid of the noise or leave it on and deal with the noise - when I inquired the front desk staff about the issue.
- there is a train track nearby from which you would hear the train noise from horns, again a couple of times in the middle of the night.
- the light bulb in the balcony cannot be turned off - it seems to be on 24/7, so pack a sleep mask for your sake if you are sensitive to any light while trying to fall asleep - double blinds in the room helps, but it does not completely block out the light like those blackout curtains.
