The room itself was clean, spacious and quiet. I found the beds to be a bit soft for my liking, but enjoyed the hot tub, pool, underground parking and lobby sitting area. Our check in was horrible. We arrived early and was told to come back at 2pm by one lady. However, a different lady was there at 2pm and refused to check us in early… I believe because we had a dog with us. She said it was because our room was not ready, however because we had a dog and were waiting in the lobby for close to an hour, we could see the cleaning staff was long done with our room, the second room on the ground floor. It was disheartening because I asked for a wheelchair accessible room but couldn’t have one because we had our dog with us. It was difficult to watch 8 couples check in while we just sat there. Unfortunately, we will not stay again although we are regular visitors to Banff.

Our stay was acceptable, the room was relatively clean and the bed was comfortable. The carpet in the corners of the room and along the walls, could have been cleaner. The reception desk staff were efficient and friendly. We were disappointed on our second night not to be able to find parking on the property. Underground parking was full and we were told by the front desk that our only option was to find parking on the street, if we could find a spot. It took 15 minutes to find a parking spot about 4 blocks away.

Not worth the cost.

The views and town were amazing, hotel had no restaurant open while other hotels did, the room was very outdated and could not park anywhere near the property if you own anything larger than a car. Room was not clean and very very outdated for the price there are much better in town. Do not stay here.

Overall, the hotel and rooms are old and outdated. Most of the staff were okay, had one staff member that was a little rude and kept making sure we knew to return the cheap corkscrew and that there was a note on our file that we had one and if we didnt return it there would be charges, felt like he assumed we were going to steal it. Parking spots were very tight.

If I were you, I’d say The Rundlestone Lodge is a good mid-tier option in Banff — you get a lot of value: clean rooms, solid amenities, helpful staff, good location with some trade-offs. If your top priority is modern design or luxurious finishes, it falls a bit short there. If I stayed, I’d be picky about which room (avoid noisy spots), check before booking that amenities I care about are working (AC, hot tub), and mentally budget for the “outdated but functional” style.
