Expedia double booked me into a queen suite. The hotel ended up giving me a call and letting me know the room was unavailable, and I was able to negotiate a similar priced room with them albeit with two beds. The process for refunds with Expedia was a bit frustrating and I was left wondering who lets them false advertise and double book a suite, leaving me without a room. I got my refund, but it was not without a reminder from Expedia that the room was normally non refundable (even though it was not through fault of my own). I am not satisfied with Expedias process and I feel they should be more lenient and convey a more apologetic message when it’s their fault for advertising a suite that wasn’t available.
The hotel itself was lovely and I’m happy they accommodated us despite the hiccup. It’s right by a beautiful beach trail, within walking distance of restaurants, cafes and shopping. The only complaint I have is the sink was clogged. We only stayed one night so didn’t try the amenities, although it seems they had many. I highly recommend this hotel for a great experience in Vancouver, but I wouldn’t book a last minute stay through Expedia again.
