"Nice resort, bar manager terrible"
I was impressed with the resort as soon as I arrived. Staff at reception was great and we were offered a cold towel on arrival as it was a really hot day. Our room was clean and comfortable, the shower head sprayed a ring of water towards the walls instead of in the shower and there wasn't a plug for the bath. My son, sister and myself had dinner at the resort the second night. The food was great, the only let down was the bar manager who stormed in behind the bar while I was placing my order, my son was sitting at the bar reading the menu and he snatched the menu from him and sat it at the end of the bar. I had explained to the bar attendant that I would order my drinks and dinner together as I was paying by card and their ATM was out of order, and I would take the drinks as I needed them. The manager must have overheard what drinks I ordered and got them all at once. He then left the bar. He came off as rude and arrogant and ruined our dining experience. Other than that one person at the resort it was an enjoyable holiday.

Lovely resort and great location. Requested an apartment with a great view and got the best. Really enjoyed my stay but the room wasn't the cleanest and a little dated. This wouldn't put me off returning as this is a lovely resort and I would definitely go back.

"5 days in Paradise"
Our stay at Paradise on the Beach Resort was literally 5 days in Paradise... Being ex-pat Queenslanders, we've seen a lot of the coast, and Palm Cove takes the prize as the best place we have seen. We are definitely coming back, In fact, we didn't want to leave. The Resort is centrally located in a strip of luxurious resorts and restaurants along a manicured foreshore which is just perfect for walking or just sitting and chilling. We were pleasantly surprised that our room was located very close to such a heavenly beach. Both of us were recouperating from a cold wet winter down South, so coming to a place with such a beautiful climate and fresh salt air was such a joy to behold. The salt water pool was put to good use and we spent a lot of time just lounging about in the sun. Of course, the free wifi at the resort took a pounding and helped us stay connected with the world. We didn't have a big budget for the holiday, so the very reasonable room rates and the meals we saved on using the excellent free BBQ facilities and the kitchenette in the room meant we could have the odd splurge. We literally couldn't go past the Apres Beach cafe at the front of the resort and we had a big breakfast there every day with the sun just rising over the Coral Sea. It is very, very hard to imagine anywhere better for a holiday.

    Pocket Guide: Palm Cove

Tropical North Queensland is renowned for its hidden coastal delights and unspoiled beaches, and located halfway between Cairns and Port Douglas, you will find one of its best. Palm Cove offers everything that a tropical paradise should, from spectacular coastline complete with palm fringed beaches, to a relaxed waterfront promenade. Browse our range of Palm Cove accommodation and book your own little slice of heaven.

Aboriginals inhabited the Palm Cove area as long as 60,000 years ago! It's believed that the Chinese might have visited the area about 3,000 years ago and that Captain Cook may have come ashore and filled up his water bottle before continuing down the coast. It wasn't until 1873, however, that Europeans began to settle here and it was the mid 1950s before the region was officially named "Palm Cove".

    Things to do

As with the rest of Queensland’s coast, the beach is the biggest attraction while you stay in Palm Cove. With pristine white sand and crystal clear waters, Palm Cove Beach is not only beautiful, but voted one of Australia’s best.

Once you've sufficiently swum, relaxed and worked on your tan, why not head out for a snorkel or a dive on the stunning Great Barrier Reef?

    Shopping and dining

Wander the beachside promenade and discover boutique stores, cafés and bars hiding beneath ancient melaleucas and swaying palm trees. Palm Cove has been built around the natural surroundings – rather than on top of them – further preserving the unspoilt feel of this idyllic coastal gem. So enjoy your meals and cocktails with breathtaking waterfront views.

    Getting here and around

The nearest airport is the Cairns Airport, about half an hour away, so be sure to nab one of these cheap flights to Cairns. Once you arrive, you can catch a coach bus from the airport to Palm Cove and then get around on foot. On the other hand, if you're planning on exploring some of the other towns in the Tropical North, consider hiring a car at the airport.

So wot are you waiting for? Book a room in one of our Palm Cove hotels listed and don't forget to pack your sunscreen!
