The property was in a good location for our trip. We were able to check in a little early which was very helpful. We loved being able to walk to the Mattituck Museum. The room was fine. We found the bed to be on the hard side, which would have been okay 30 years ago when we were not afflicted with back and joint issues. The AC unit was very noisy and despite being on the ninth floor there was a lot of noise from cars with loud mufflers until very late at night. We decided to eat at the Bistro in the hotel and waited a very long time for a staff member to appear and take our order. We had started to walk away when someone did show up. The food was excellent and the staff were lovely once there.

Understaffed, dirty carpets- elevators- and fixtures, primary restaurant closed and front desk was unaware, micro coffee shop onsite waited 20 min with no staff appearing also had a sign of an 18% manadtory tip added to any item, parking garage attendant/booth reeked of pot and left gates open and unattended both days i was there. neighborhood is very shady with people hanging around entrances. no microwaves in room but the front desk sells microwave meals

Downtown Waterbury in general is limited in what’s around it in terms of dining and amenities, so this hotel is located centrally but there wasn’t much around it. This was the best option available to stay in Waterbury. I probably wouldn’t stay here again in the future but it wasn’t because of the hotel, but rather the city itself.

Faded but comfortable

Tay, the receptionist when I check in, talked in an extremely loud voice and told me it as against protocol to switch my room when I discovered the thermostat did not work upon first entering the room she gave me. This was the second time I heard her proclaiming something about hotel protocol in a very loud voice to another guest. I have been staying at this hotel for well over 25 years when visiting family. The beds are comfortable, the rooms fairly spacious, many with walk in showers. The couches and chairs throughout the hotel are old, worn and often soiled. I don’t think they have been replaced in decades. Frank, who checked me out, was great. Polite, efficient and friendly, in contrast to my difficult check in with Tay the receptionist the night before.

Comfortable but dated

I was greeted at the front desk by Tay, an extremely loud, but efficient young woman who was checking people in. I waited in line about 15 minutes while she discussed in a very loud voice some issue with another customer. The hotel has not been refurbished in many years. I went up to my room on the sixth floor in a rather dirty elevator. The carpet on the sixth floor needed a good shampooing. Room and bed was very comfortable, but the couch had to be about 10 years and in need of replacement.

Close to Interstate

Pro's: Easy off and on to interstate, staff very friendly, two dining options inside, clean. Con's: Very noisy with traffic noise and sirens, even with us being on the 9th floor. Hotel is next to a hospital. Public parking deck is not free and did not appear to be monitored. No other parking option other than a few handicap spaces that are also not free, but are in front of the drive into the hotel.
