Very good

First stay in a hostel and everything was better than expected. The room and facilities were all clean and comfortable. The 5 stars do come with one note. If your room is on the first floor expect to hear everything the overnight desk attendant does. Everything from talking on the phone, doing what sounded like sorting screws or games on their unmuted phone, it will be heard.

Small, noisy and dirty rooms

I don't recommend this place anybody. The rooms are very small. The bed was very bad, I stayed 3 nights and had huge pain on my back. The room was so dirty, lot of dust, marks on the wall, horrible. You can hear everything from the hallway and neighbors and lot of noise from outside. I found tiny bugs from my bed. There are 2 bathrooms per floor and there is nothing to clean the bathroom so after taking shower, bathrooms are dirty. Area has lot of homeless, unsafe.

Great Economical Place to stay while visiting NYC

Lamartine Chelsea is in a great location, close to Times Square, Broadway, The High Line, and so on. It's a great price for the city. Nothing fancy but it's clean and comfortable. We don't spend much time in our room when we go to New York so it was just a place to sleep and clean up. Fantastic spot if that is what you are looking for. Check in was smooth and they let us leave our bags there after check out until we were ready to head home.

Rooms were not as advertised at entire building ranked of marijuana even though we were told there was no smoking. Bed sheets were stained and pillows were dirty. Looking. Room was about the size of a closet. Tried communicating for several days leading up to our check-in with the staff with no return calls or messages.
