Our experience definitely had ups and downs but aside from the initial check-in, the property itself was fantastic! The room was spacious, clean, and updated with a very large balcony (we had a corner room which likely made a huge difference). The two water park areas were simply terrific - things for kids of all ages and well maintained. We did the breakfast buffet one day and ate at the restaurant for lunch one day, both of which were terrific and reasonably priced for hotel resort food. The location itself felt very safe and was surrounded by nice homes and neighborhoods which is very different from other locations we've stayed at in Mrytle Beach. The staff throughout the property were pleasant and helpful. Parking is in a garage directly across the street and the garage itself was recently updated and pleasant and felt safe. We would highly recommend this place for families with kids! The only downside for our entire stay was check-in. We arrived around 9:30 p.m. and were shocked to find a line of cars waiting to check-in lined up into the street. It took about 45 minutes (which wasn't bad all things considered), headed to our room, only to find it was already occupied! We headed back to the desk and waited and waited until finally getting another room. We didn't get settled in until after midnight which was a rough start with two little kids. After this initial issue, we couldn't have asked for a better place!

The room was very dated. Toilet didn't flush. We had to lift the lid on the back of the toilet to get the water to refill. One of the tv's in the room didn't work. The pull for the shower didn't work. When lifted water sprayed out the spout everywhere and very little through the actual shower. This room is a disaster.

Everything about Dunes is great! The only thing if wish they improve is their check in and check out. It's almost impossible to get parking at 4 to check in and getting a uboat at check out is like hitting the lottery. But the staff is lovely and the rooms are great!

We booked a room at Dunes resort in Myrtle Beach SC. The hotel as well as the parking garage were under construction. There was absolutely no where to park. Their only solution was for us to park in a tow away parking lot for public beach access that Myrtle Beach has NO PARKING over night. That was a big no. We checked in at 11:20pm. We were not told this before we were checked in. After 3 hours of being inconvenienced with no parking we had to leave that property and find another hotel to finally get checked in at 2:30am!!!! This was a complete inconvenience. The front desk workers were absolutely no help. They were telling us to park illegally per The City of Myrtle Beach SC, which would have had our car towed.

The rooms need a long overdue update- rusting and damaged appliances, damaged bedroom furniture. The hallways of the north and south towers are dirty and dingy. All of the trim needs to be repainted and recaulked. Beds are firm and the oceanfront rooms have a great view. Overall quietness while in the rooms.

Overall this trip was great. My son had the time of his life at the 2 VERY different indoor water parks. The staff (in particular Toni) was amazing, very welcoming and did everything to make sure my son had the best birthday ever. She was very helpful from start to finish. My only complaint was the people upstairs sounded like they were fighting for hours and we heard it all lol.

The room was was clean enough in areas to be able to stay there. I needed to do some cleaning. Other than throwing a few clean towels on the chair (towels only) and getting the dirty towels if they could be seen, room serv didn’t exist. The beds/pillows were very comfortable. The hottub water was disgusting. I was persuaded to get in anyway but only lasted a few minutes. Starting 3 days later, I was so sick for a week with a viral infection in my chest. The suite was comfortable and with it being off season, the price wasn't too bad either. If it had been in season, knowing what the prices are then and the condition been the same, I would more than likely gone to another hotel. Note: the kitchen floor was very dirty w/spills and dried ??. I mentioned to a housekeeper it would be nice if it were clean and if there was a mop handy, I would consider cleaning it myself. We left and I was guessing she might go by and quickly mop the floor. I returned to find a mop propped against the stove. Floor dirty. If you can ignore a little dirty floor and doing a little cleaning in the bathroom yourself and no room service, then this would be a good Place to stay. Our suite had 1 bedroom, a Murphy bed in the dining area and a queen pull out, sleeps 8 easy. Full refrigerator, stove and dishwasher. And a washer/dryer. Take your own cleaners/pods etc. ...They are expensive.
