Such a beautiful property with the best scenery. The staff was so helpful and welcoming. A great stay if you want to be away from the city and really experience nature.

This property is pet friendly, meaning all the rooms are allowed to have pets in them. Based on my selection of rooms, I did not know this. My room was not clean of dog hair. Luckily, I am not allergic. After laying on the top sheet of the bed, I got up with dog hair on the back of my shorts. Not cool.

A hotel to avoid
This hotel is in bad shape, old and needs work. Plus, it is run & managed very badly. Room was like a cheap Motel 6 room - only more expensive. No table in the room to work, read or eat on. Upon request, management could not even provide a temporary (foldable) table. Wi-Fi connection is very weak, sporadic & frustrating. Lost connection constantly. No cable / regular TV channels available to watch news or sport. Just cartoons, Netflix etc. Because its the only hotel on Mt. Charleston the owners & management seems to think that they do not need to provide a value for the money. Very bad place, I never will stay there again.

This place needs to be on dirty dining, the state should be called. The owners should be ashamed. There were 2 nice staff members, the rest had attitude, seemed bothered to even be there. Unsafe major tripping hazards with every step of the stairs. Outdoor area (the reason you pay to go have nice weather) is so sad. 2 chairs on the patio area overlooking the mountain. Filthy room, bugs everywhere, mold in the shower/ on the curtain. Absolutely worst hotel experience ever. Wanted to ask for a refund but honestly felt bad for the workers there despite their rude/poor service we overheard to others

Reserved a presidential suite with full kitchen but no glasses, silverware and no cooking utensils at all, not even a kitchen towel. So no reason for stove and oven can't use it anyways unless you bring pots and pans and utensils yourself. Stayed 1 night instead of 2. Also light bulbs through out were burned out. Need more help in restaurants only could serve a 1/3 of the tables at a time and service was not very good, food was ok. But all were friendly when you could see them.

Nice scenery of the mountains and enjoyed buying the crystal jewelry from the lady outside the property. Our room had lots of pet hair on the floor and chairs in the room, we didn’t take a pet with us. The bed was very uncomfortable, lumpy & hard. The room a/c would blow warm after a while of being on. Decor is a bit out dated and holes in the couches in the lobby. The lobby women’s restroom was not clean.

CHECKING IN: Surrounding asphalt was nothing but potholes. I was able to check in early (although 4pm is awfully late for a check-in time). There is no elevator. They were able to move me to a ground floor room. Most likely because there were only a few other guests in the hotel. FOOD: No beverage options other than the alcohol at the bar or sodas at the restaurant. There was a cafe (a very generous distinction) that carried children’s box drinks. It boasted being open 24 hours, but it was consistently unmanned. I ordered food to-go at the restaurant. At the time there were only 3 patrons in the entire place and 2 servers. Both servers gave me the impression that I was bothering them. My food took 40 minutes and they messed up my order. If you're staying here, stock up on snacks before heading up the mountain. ROOM: The door to my room was very heavy and difficult to prop open while carrying things. The wifi was very poor. No desk/chair or clock in the room. The entire place had a run down and poorly maintained feel about it. POSITIVES: The view is great. It was pretty quiet. The shower had good water pressure and the water got hot right away. There was plenty of parking. This place has a lot of potential. My impression is that it doesn’t generate enough business to fund major upgrades. Which is a shame. If you are the only major hotel in a remote tourist area, you are at a major advantage. I would love to see this place become something more.

This could be a nicer place but the service especially the bartender ( lady) is really bad and rude. The setting is beautiful with amazing views but the building in general needs a little love. Hotel does not have an elevator.
