Great hotel

Very good hotel with a great location. Front desk has always been friendly and helpful. Quiet room and comfortable bed. Clean as well. Only complaints which are probably standard for most locations would be; have to pay for wifi and there was a 50 dollar early check in fee.

I loved everything about the property! The staff amazing, the rooms were clean, it’s so close to a lot of restaurants and attractions. My only complaint would be the valet staff they're not so friendly and very unorganized.

Overall Good!

We travel often and are picky about hotels. Amenities have to be valuable, price has to be competitive and it has to be centrally located. This was all of the above. Location can’t be beat, Starbucks connected to the property, beds were comfortable and the bathroom had nice amenities. Generally we felt the room was clean and well kept. We also loved that you could get great tasting cold water from the workout room!! Things that can be improved-more hooks for towels, bags in bathroom. This was a struggle. Sink area was small for two people. Bathroom door wouldn’t stay open which meant we used the garbage to keep it open often. Finally, the “resort/amenity fee” offers some benefit, but not enough to merit the price of it each day. Usually avoid hotels with these fees, but wanted the location so settled. Probably won’t pick it again if the price is my competitive.

We chose The Drake because we love historic hotels. The Drake did not disappoint, although the historic hotels can be uptodate without compromising their authenticity. I think The Chase in St Louis is a good exanple. The Drake cd stand a little bit of an update. The furniture was a bit wobbly, there were awkward repairs in the bathroom, the sofa bed was painful, plus there was no refrigerator in the room and the toiletries were crap. But the room was HUGE and full of the kind of dated glamor that makes staying at a place like this an event of its own.
