We enjoy our stay at the hotel! The view is awesome and the hot tub faces the beautiful mountains. A nice touch is the tea and coffee offerings; love to be able to do our own pour overs. The hotel is clean and the staff is friendly. It's very conveniently located to Banff bus transit but very walkable to Banff downtown if a stroll is preferred. The hotel restaurant Good Folk has great food offerings and the restaurant Sudden Sally in the sister hotel across the street has great happy hour.

The Otter Hotel looks beautiful and has a lot of potential, but our experience didn’t quite match the appearance. The AC unit in our room was very loud, which made it hard to relax or sleep comfortably. We were also woken up in the middle of the night by a fire alarm—flashing lights and extremely loud noise. While we understand safety is important, the experience was quite frightening. Unfortunately, there was no real follow-up besides a generic letter, which felt a bit impersonal. We had hoped for a more thoughtful response, especially given the disruption.

Nice New Hotel with Room for Improvement We stayed at a new hotel in Otter which was in excellent condition and about a 15-minute walk from the town center. Overall, it was a good stay, but a few service issues affected the experience, especially considering the price point. We arrived very early and understood that check-in is officially at 4 PM. However, given that it was off-season, we expected a bit more flexibility. Even when we returned at 4 PM, the room was still not ready. Only after expressing frustration did the front desk assign us a different room. Additionally, our room was never cleaned during the stay, which was disappointing. This hotel has a lot of potential - it’s clean, modern, and well-located - but service and hospitality standards could use improvement to match the quality of the facility.

Modern hotel. Gave you a choice of specialty coffees and teas. Great vibes at the hot tub area. Only suggestion is they need a street cleaner to clean out the underground parkade as it was dusty.

Otter Hotel - Well Worth the Stay

Great hotel and fantastic service! All amenities were fabulous and so was the restaurant - Good Folk! The only issue is the wifi signal, while it is FREE, its choppy at best unless you are towards the front of the building. But you can't beat the price, the renovations are upscale!
