"A great place to camp!"
I had a brief stay as I often do. The experience from getting out of the taxi to my hotel door is efficient and smooth. After a tiring day of travel it is great to get into the relaxed atmosphere of my hotel room with a minimum of fuss.

"Beautiful hotel central to everything"
We chose to stay at QT Sydney as we were already familiar with the name, but also due to it's central proximity to the city centre and other attractions, ie, Darling Harbour, The Rocks, Pier, etc. The rooms and hotel itself were beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable. The restaurant food and service were excellent and the staff overall just so helpful and a pleasure to deal with. QT Sydney is where we'll be staying every time we're back holidaying in Sydney!

The heart of Sydney is also home to some of Australia’s most famous attractions, such as the Sydney Opera House. With its distinctive design and reputation as a world-class performing arts venue, it’s no wonder the Opera House is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Nearby is the Sydney Sea Life Aquarium (with exhibits that will make you feel like you’re at the Great Barrier Reef!), and the Powerhouse Museum, a great place to visit for science geeks. Check out our Darling Harbour accommodation to be nice and close to these hot tourist spots.

Fans of natural history and creatures great and small should visit the Australian Museum. An internationally-renowned institution, the museum has millions of items on display, including dinosaur fossils, insects and various cultural artefacts. Or if you’d rather see live animals, why not visit Taronga Zoo? This beloved Sydney venue houses lions, elephants and iconic Aussie animals like koalas and the Tasmanian Devil. Located on the shores of Sydney Harbour, the view from the zoo is incredible too!

Shopaholics will find plenty to keep them occupied in the Sydney CBD too. Upmarket shoppers will love the luxury stores along King and Castlereagh Street as well as the many boutiques which have set up shop within Westfield Sydney. The Queen Victoria Building, a shopping arcade featuring late nineteenth-century architecture and a ten metre clock, is popular with both shoppers and tourists alike. If you’re on a budget, visit Paddy’s Markets.. Here you can find everything from souvenirs to fresh produce. If you’re in the Chinatown area on Friday night, take the time to wander through the Chinatown Nightmarket, which is open from 4PM to 11PM.

Once you’ve shopped ‘til you’ve dropped, head back to your Sydney City hotel to drop off your bags before going to explore Sydney’s nightlife. Sydney is also one of the perfect places to celebrate New Year’s Eve. Watch as fireworks burst over the Sydney Harbour Bridge, illuminating the water and the night sky as thousands ring in the new year.

If you’re not in Sydney during the new year but are keen to see the city light up, make sure you mark Vivid Sydney on your calendar. Held during May and June, the festival sees various locations around the CBD come alive with neon lighs, resulting in a spectacular visuals arts display. The Sydney Film Festival is also on around this time, which showcases the latest local and international films of the year.

With Sydney Airport located 15 minutes from the CBD, it’s easy to grab a cheap flight to Sydney and begin exploring the sights straight away. Our Sydney CBD accommodation includes great deals for solo travellers and also family-friendly hotels with two or three bedrooms. So wot are you waiting for?
